Some of NYT’s most thoroughly discredited pieces have had a serious impact – for example, libelous reporting on UNRWA led directly to months of famine and mass starvation among Gazans. Many stories were sourced to Israeli agencies with well-established records of lying and disinformation – that is, NYT provided propaganda instead of facts. There may be a strong case for prosecuting many at the paper for their role in the genocide.
