Palestinians in Gaza ask, where is the ceasefire? as daily, Israel carries out lethal strikes against a starving and displaced people.

Israeli strikes killed a total of at least nine people in Gaza Saturday. At least seven were massacred in one air attack on a Gaza City tent camp housing displaced people, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense. Women and children are believed to be among the casualties.
Another strike in Khan Younis killed Mohannad Othman Ferwana, who was scheduled to be married later in the day, according to local medical sources.
Hamas said Saturday that it has begun meetings in Cairo with mediators and Palestinian factions to discuss completing the implementation of the first phase* of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and arrangements for its second phase.
*NOTE: As part of the October 2025 ceasefire agreement, Israel was supposed to restart the full quantity of aid into Gaza (600 trucks a day), along with rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads – none of these commitments have been fulfilled. The UN reports an average of 91 trucks of aid entering Gaza per day.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:
Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)
‘Badge of honor’: Israeli settlers shrug off global condemnation: When the European Union issued its latest tranche of sanctions against Israeli settler groups and their leaders, Regavim, founded in part by the country’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, these groups welcomed the measures as a “badge of honor,” and might become a source of domestic prestige, rather than a deterrent. In total, the EU sanctioned four entities and three individuals associated with the settler movement.
*NOTE: More than 700,000 settlers live illegally on Palestinian land in over 500 settlements and settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Some settler groups have a history of violence against Palestinians, often with the assistance of Israeli military forces. Learn more about Israeli settler violence here and here.
ISRAELI MEDIA: IDF Soldier Filmed Beating Palestinians in Settler* Raid on West Bank Town; Eight Wounded, Medics Say: In a wave of West Bank violence Saturday, settlers stormed four villages near Nablus, attacking homes and vehicles and stealing livestock, the IDF and witnesses said. Residents said the raids lasted about two hours without IDF intervention.
The IDF stated that it is “aware” of “footage showing an IDF soldier using violence against a Palestinian,” describing his actions as “serious and inconsistent with the values of the IDF.” The Israel Police also claim they have opened an investigation*. (Video below.)
*NOTE: Israel is notorious for finding itself innocent whenever it self-investigates – video here – occasionally slapping a low level soldier on the wrist. Israel also refuses to allow international investigators access to check on human rights of Palestinians. When a group reports that the Israeli military is guilty of a crime, Israel invariably calls both the group and the report “antisemitic,” and/or claims they are trying to “delegitimize Israel.” Examples here, here, and here.
Israeli settlers attack West Bank town of Huwara, wounding five Palestinians: Dozens of Israeli settlers attacked the Palestinian town of Huwara south of Nablus on Saturday, wounding several residents and vandalizing local property. During the raid, settlers stole a car, a bicycle, and approximately 35 livestock animals belonging to local residents.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
ISRAEL-US WAR/CEASEFIRE ON IRAN – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
100 days into the war on Iran, Trump fails to rally US support: The unpopularity of the war may affect the US approach to the conflict and hurt Republicans in the elections, analysts say.
U.S. Mulls Using Iranian Assets to Fund Gulf States’ Post-war Repairs, Source Says: The U.S. Treasury Secretary has directed a team to assess damage costs inflicted on Gulf allies by Iran, a source told Reuters. On Friday, an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader told CNN that a deal to end the war hinged on the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets.
Pope Leo says US-Israeli war against Iran not ‘just war’: Pope Leo XIV said the war being waged by the US and Israel against Iran is not a “just war,” arguing that the centuries-old theory no longer reflects the realities of modern warfare. His remarks come after US Vice President JD Vance invoked concept to defend military action against Iran.

- Iran: at least 3,636 (1,701 civilians, 254 children)

ISRAEL’S WAR/CEASEFIRE ON LEBANON – NEWS & HEADLINES:
Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.
Israeli attacks in Lebanon kill 12 people, including high-ranking officers
Israel kills Lebanese army officers* days after declaring ‘no hostile intent’ against Beirut: Israel’s latest killing of Lebanese soldiers occurred a day after the country’s PM said the ongoing occupation and ethnic cleansing in the south are ‘not our war.’ Israeli army said that the operation is “under review.”
*NOTE: Israel’s conflict is not with Lebanon or the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), but Hezbollah. Still, Israel has killed over 30 LAF soldiers since 2 March.
Hezbollah, for its part, frames its actions as resistance, embedding itself within Lebanon’s political and social fabric while maintaining an armed wing more powerful than the Lebanese state itself. Brookings has described the group as a ‘state within a state’, simultaneously a political actor and militia. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel occupied southern Lebanon for 18 years occupation — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation. Regarding the current escalation, Hezbollah has specifically said that it will keep fighting Israel until there is a ceasefire with Gaza.

- Hezbollah attacks have killed at least 30 Israeli soldiers and three Israeli civilians over that same period

The Real “Divide” Among Democrats Over Israel Is Between Party Leadership and Voters: While party leaders such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senator Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and big Democratic donors, are pro-Israel, actual Democratic voters have moved on from Israel with remarkable speed and consistency.
Thomas Massie Won’t Back Down: Neoconservative veteran John Podhoretz celebrated the role of “Jewish money” in defeating Thomas Massie. But a primary loss to the Israel Lobby seems to have only emboldened the Kentucky congressman.

*NOTE: Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025. Israel has demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria, allegedly to prevent any “potential threat” from post-war Syria – but has vowed to stay permanently in what seems to be an informal border expansion.
UK lawmakers demand tracking of British nationals who took part in Israel’s genocide in Gaza: An initiative, spearheaded by Declassified UK and the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians, asserts that “the public interest is best served by monitoring the entry of British-Israeli dual national citizens into the UK and investigating potential links to war crimes, in cases where they have served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Over 2,000 British-Israeli dual nationals participated in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, yet have faced no prosecution from UK authorities.
