Israeli military admits: open-fire policy needlessly killed protestors

Israel admits that live fire against Palestinian protestors has at times caused death when only serious injury was intended.  Israeli snipers have killed 300 while gradually tweaking their limb-targeting approach. Now they “aim for the ankles,” likely only maiming the unarmed demonstrators. The Israeli Supreme Court has backed the lethal open-fire policy from day one.

Gideon Levy: A Young Gazan’s Dream, Amputated

Alaa ad-Dali is a young man who had a dream – quite a rare thing in Gaza – and it was crushed by the IDF. What does he have left? 138 young people in Gaza have lost legs in the protests at the fence as a result of IDF sniper fire, and they aren’t even a story. Their motivations don’t interest anyone. They are all labeled “terrorists.”

PBS stations around the US were scheduled to show a riveting new Frontline documentary, “One Day in Gaza,” but at the last minute the plug was pulled. While significant context is missing, the film includes clips important for Americans to see – including a young, unarmed teen being shot in her head. BBC, the coproducer of the film, broadcast it to British viewers. We are posting it below so that Americans can also view it.

Hundreds of Gaza protesters shot by Israeli forces risk limb amputation

Israeli soldiers have shot 7,000 demonstrators in Gaza over the past year with live ammunition. A top UN official warns that 1,700 of them have shattered limbs that may need to be amputated if Gaza doesn’t receive emergency medical help. Already, over 120 people have had arms or legs amputated, including 20 children.

Israeli Soldiers Kill 4 Palestinians, Injure 316, In Gaza

Israeli forces used lethal force against hundreds of thousands of Palestinian protesters marking a year since the beginning of the Gaza Great Return March and commemorating Land Day. Among the wounded are 86 children and 29 women. The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reports that Israeli soldiers have killed 266 Palestinians and injured 30398 others since the Return March processions started on March 30, 2018.
