Youngsters “disabled for life” by Israel’s shoot-to-cripple policy in Gaza

The number of dead is outrageous; the number injured – especially gunshot victims, and particularly victims of “butterfly bullets” – is unconscionable. These young protesters will need multiple, complex surgeries (or amputation) and intensive rehabilitation, in a region where medical facilities and staff are already stretched beyond their limits. We can only hope for an authentic investigation via the UN Human Rights Council.

Israeli war ships forcibly intercepted Palestinian boats hours after they sailed off the coast of the besieged Gaza Strip. The Palestinian boats, carrying students planning to study abroad and people wounded in recent mass protests, were forced to the Israeli port of Ashdod. Israel has been blockading Gaza for 11 years, creating a virtual prison for its nearly two million inhabitants.

Bill would spend Palestinian taxes on Israeli families

An Israeli bill would divert some of the revenue that Israel is obligated to hand over to the Palestinian Authority, to stay in Israel. This revenue is earmarked for social welfare payments to families of Palestinians captured, injured, or killed by Israel. Israel claims this practice promotes terrorism.
