Israel has killed 20 journalists with impunity since 2000
The May 11, 2022, killing of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh is part of a deadly, decades-long pattern. Israel refused to allow his family to visit him even as his condition deteriorated. He was one of ~600 Palestinians held without charge or trial. The NYT didn’t report on the strike until he died.
