Israeli forces killed at least 54 people on Sunday, the majority while they tried to obtain aid.
Israeli air raids on southern Lebanon killed two people Sunday, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, as ceasefire violations persist along the border.

Almost 50 Palestinians gunned down while trying to reach food aid site in Gaza
ANADOLU AGENCY REPORTS: A health ministry statement said that the bodies of 28 people were transferred to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis city and 21 others to the Red Cross Field Hospital, while over 200 people were injured by Israeli live fire.
According to eyewitnesses, large crowds had assembled early in the morning at an aid distribution center run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an American organization backed by Israel.
As people approached the site, Israeli military vehicles opened fire, and drones dropped explosives, resulting in mass casualties, they added.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces also opened fire on civilians approaching another American aid center near the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza, witnesses said.
HA’ARETZ REPORTS: The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement that the Israeli army opened fire on Palestinians while making their way to aid distribution sites are false.
“Findings from an initial inquiry* indicate that the IDF did not fire at civilians while they were near or within the humanitarian aid distribution site,” the statement said.
THE GUARDIAN REPORTS: The Israeli forces denied “firing at civilians”. However, an Israel Defense Forces official admitted that Israeli soldiers fired “warning shots toward several suspects who advanced toward the troops on Saturday”, near the aid distribution site, without specifying who the suspects were.
The Israeli-backed aid foundation claimed that it delivered aid “without incident” early on Sunday and has denied previous accounts of gunfire around its sites, which are in Israeli military zones where independent access is limited.
“The situation in the hospital is catastrophic, due to the massacre of the hungry in Rafah city, near the aid distribution centre,” said Dr Marwan al-Hams, 53, a medic in the emergency department at Nasser hospital, where many of the victims were brought.
DROP SITE NEWS REPORTS: Gaza’s Ambulance Director says Israeli forces are blocking ambulances from reaching civilians gunned down while en route to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid site in western Rafah.
Ambulances are being deliberately targeted, and rescuing the wounded under fire is extremely dangerous.
An Australian doctor working at the Nasser hospital stated that all of the casualties were civilians.
*NOTE: Israel’s self-investigations – on the rare occasions when they do take place – consistently whitewash its crimes and fail to appropriately punish the perpetrators.
Israeli sources, including the government itself, have a long track record of lying (for example, this and this and this.)
The Israeli military’s self-investigation tend to focus on individuals and individual incidents, ignoring the dangerous, far-reaching policies and assumptions rampant in Israeli thinking: impunity, lethality, and dehumanization.

Greta Thunberg joins aid ship sailing to Gaza aimed at breaking Israel’s blockade
The climate campaigner Greta Thunberg and 11 other activists have set sail for Gaza on a ship aimed at “breaking Israel’s siege” of the devastated territory, organisers have said.
The sailing boat Madleen – operated by the activist group Freedom Flotilla Coalition – departed from the port of Catania in Sicily, southern Italy, on Sunday.
“We are doing this because, no matter what odds we are against, we have to keep trying,” Thunberg said, bursting into tears during her speech, “because the moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity. And, no matter how dangerous this mission is, it’s not even near as dangerous as the silence of the entire world in the face of the live streamed genocide.”

Why is a pro-Israel group asking the US to investigate Ms Rachel?
When Ms Rachel, the beloved kids’ YouTube sensation whose given name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, began speaking out about the genocide in Gaza, pro-Israel rightwingers put a massive target on her back.
Accurso first made her stance public around May 2024, when she announced a fundraiser for children in Gaza and other war zones. Since then, she’s consistently drawn attention to the tragedy in Palestine by sharing statistics on the crisis along with images of Palestinian children with her social media audience of tens of millions of followers, and [Israel supporters have] been after her since.
Last month, the pro-Israel group StopAntisemitism asked the Department of Justice to investigate whether Ms Rachel was operating as a foreign agent because of her posts about children in Gaza. In an open letter to the US attorney general, Pam Bondi, they asked authorities to find out whether Accurso was “being remunerated to disseminate Hamas-aligned propaganda to her millions of followers” (continue reading here).
