The Israeli army killed at least 38 Palestinians and injured dozens in fresh attacks in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip on Monday, medics said.
Among the dead were three Palestinians killed while attempting to access aid west of Rafah, and 16 killed when Israeli fighter jets hit a home in Jabaliya.
Israeli attacks on aid center kills three, raises death toll of relief seekers to 75
Since the US-Israeli initiative of distributing aid began on 27 May, more than 75 people have been killed in assaults launched on starving civilians seeking food and essential supplies, with 400 more wounded, the Gaza Health Ministry reported.
Palestinians are calling the deadly attack in Rafah on Sunday the “Witkoff Massacre”, holding US envoy Steven Witkoff directly responsible for the politically driven, deadly trap.

Israeli strikes on Gaza schools used as civilian shelters are part of deliberate strategy, say sources
A series of recent deadly airstrikes on school buildings sheltering displaced people in Gaza were part of a deliberate Israeli military bombing strategy, with further schools identified as targets, the Guardian has learned.
At least six school buildings have been struck, reportedly killing more than 120 people, in recent months as part of a targeting effort by the Israeli military.
This followed a loosening of controls on actions targeting Hamas operatives at sites with large numbers of civilians present, according to sources familiar with the strategy.
The sources said airstrikes had been authorized against such sites in circumstances in which only low-ranking militants were present despite knowing that civilians could be killed.
According to latest UN assessments, 95% of Gaza’s schools have sustained some level of damage to their buildings. Approximately 400 schools were classified as having suffered a “direct hit”.

‘Forced disappearances’ suspected in US aid group centers in Gaza
While branded as “humanitarian relief,” the reality was starkly different. Israeli soldiers encircled the sites, heavy weaponry drawn and ready; drones and surveillance aircraft hovered menacingly overhead; and cameras monitored every movement of the starving civilians gathering below.
Fears are mounting that these aid centers serve as a space for intelligence gathering and targeted arrests.
Separately speaking to TNA, local eyewitnesses said that “surveillance cameras planted at distribution sites, inspection teams verifying identities before handing out food,” suggesting a calculated operation to single out and detain those deemed security threats.
Human rights advocates warn that these tactics represent systematically enforced disappearances cloaked in humanitarianism.
Local and international organizations are raising alarms over these flagrant breaches of international law. Political analyst Hussam al-Dajani urged urgent intervention, “Using aid centers to arrest or forcibly disappear civilians is a grave violation. The UN, which coordinates relief, must investigate what’s happening on the ground” (continue reading here).

Gaza ‘Freedom Flotilla’ sets sail from Italy with Greta Thunberg, Susan Sarandon onboard
Renowned climate activist Greta Thunberg and actors Guy Pearce, Susan Sarandon, and Liam Cunningham have joined the multinational Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) of activists who boarded the Madleen ship to set sail for Gaza on 1 June, in a direct challenge to the blockade on the strip.
The Madleen civilian ship departed from Catania, Sicily, on Sunday and is crewed by international activists, medics, and other volunteers dedicated to restoring the flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
The small vessel is expected to reach Gaza by 8 June, where activists will attempt to breach the Israeli-enforced blockade on the besieged enclave, carrying a meager but ‘symbolic’ amount of humanitarian aid (continue reading here).
