Eleven Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded, including women and children, in simultaneous Israeli airstrikes early Thursday targeting residential apartments across Gaza City, in what medical teams and civil defense units described as one of the most violent nights since the declared “ceasefire.”.

An airstrike on an apartment in northwestern Gaza City killed five members of the same family — a man, his wife, and three children; a nine‑year‑old girl survived with moderate wounds and is the only remaining member of her household.

Al‑Jazeera Arabic reported that it was “one of the heaviest bombardments on Gaza City in recent days,” noting that several western and northern neighborhoods came under direct attack as families were sleeping.

Israel Has Engineered a Deadly Shortage of Medications and Health Care in Gaza: A Palestinian doctor in Gaza says the territory is facing its worst medication shortage since Israel began the genocide.

Gaza is being offered coercion, not reconstruction: Gaza’s destruction is treated not as a humanitarian emergency demanding immediate action but as leverage to engineer a new Palestinian political order aligned with the interests of Israel and the United States. Reconstruction, in effect, has been weaponized. The overwhelming focus remains on regulating Palestinian behavior rather than confronting Israeli power.

Israel plans to widen Gaza’s ‘yellow line,’ shrinking available living space for Palestinians: Israel currently controls around 60% of Gaza and plans to expand that to at least 70%.

UN funding shortfalls for Palestine humanitarian assistance are forcing humanitarian partners in the Gaza Strip to reduce or suspend critical services, even as needs remain immense. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric warned on Thursday, “the $4.1 billion requirement identified in the annual appeal for Gaza and the West Bank remains less than 15% funded.”

  • At least 947 since ceasefire began Oct. 11, 2025 (247 children, 191 women)
  • 72,945 killed (~22,000 children, 33,000 women and girls) since October 2023

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:

Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and thisFor information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)

Israeli occupation forces shot and killed Haitham Ezzeddine Omar Hamida, an 18‑year‑old Palestinian, late Thursday night during an invasion of the village of Beitin, east of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank. The incident followed the pattern of standard Israeli military procedure: soldiers invade towns and village, fire live rounds at residents, and impose movement restrictions. Residents protest, and when one is killed by Israeli fire, Israeli forces confiscate the body – a practice condemned by human rights organizations as collective punishment.

The lives of thousands of patients, including more than 4,000 cancer patients, are at risk after hundreds of medicines and medical supplies ran out of stock in Palestinian warehouses amid a deepening financial crisis caused by Israel’s continued withholding of clearance revenues*, the Health Ministry warned Thursday.

*NOTE: Under the terms of the Oslo Accords, Israel collects import/export taxes on behalf of the Palestinian Authority, which is supposed to be handed over for the PA’s operating budget. Israel regularly keeps back some of this revenue (an amount now totaling over $5 billion), claiming it is being used illegally for the so-called Pay-For-Slay program (Palestinians often call it the Martyr’s Fund) – a social safety net for the Palestinian families that have lost their breadwinner due to the conflict with Israel.

Many Palestinian “martyrs” were not killers or attackers, but were themselves killed while walking to school, participating in a peaceful demonstration, or sleeping in their beds – but Israel does not differentiate, claiming the program encourages Palestinians to volunteer for suicide missions.

Notably, Israel has its own compensation program for families of IDF soldiers killed or injured in the line of duty, as does the US. For a deep dive into the topic, read The Legitimacy of Family Compensation for Palestinians Killed, Injured, and Imprisoned.

ISRAELI MEDIA: ‘Implementing Our Sovereignty’ – Israel Police Seek Far-right, Religious Jewish Cops for Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Compound: Israel Police are recruiting Temple Mount activists to police the Middle East’s most sensitive religious site as its delicate status quo* erodes under pressure from Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Rabbis are encouraging their students to be a ‘Jewish presence’ among police officers.

*NOTE: Anyone can visit the Al Aqsa Mosque grounds (known to Jews as the Temple Mount) but only Muslims are allowed to pray there, according to an understanding known as the ‘status quo agreement,’ under which, since 1967, Israel has formally pledged to allow Muslims to pray at the site, while Jews pray at the Western Wall below.

In practice, however, restrictions have steadily eroded, particularly since 2023 (after extremist Itamar Ben Gvir became Minister of National Security). Many Palestinians fear this erosion will lead to open conflict. This move to hire Jewish extremists to police a Muslim holy place will likely test this theory.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

ISRAEL-US WAR/CEASEFIRE ON IRAN – NEWS & HEADLINES:

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

ISRAEL’S WAR/CEASEFIRE ON LEBANON – NEWS & HEADLINES:

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

Nine people were killed and several others injured Thursday in Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon despite a renewed ceasefire agreement, according to Lebanese media reports.

The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah on Thursday rejected the ceasefire framework for Lebanon agreed to on Wednesday by Israel and the Lebanese government. A Hezbollah spokesperson said Thursday that his group would continue fighting until Israel withdraws its forces and ceases its bombing of Lebanon.

Israeli war chief vows continued strikes on Lebanon as part of ‘conditional’ truce: Hezbollah has repeatedly affirmed that it will not accept an agreement that does not include a withdrawal and full halt to Israeli attacks. The Israeli army is reportedly continuing its operations in Lebanon and has not received any new instructions despite the announced ceasefire agreement.

Trump Says a Ceasefire in the Middle East Means “Shooting in a Moderate Manner”: Trump’s comments excuse his failure to end the Iran war, and justify Israel’s violations in Gaza and Lebanon. Israel has violated the October 2025 ceasefire agreement in Gaza over 3,000 times, on a near-daily basis, killing over 900 Palestinians.
