ISRAEL-US WAR/CEASEFIRE ON IRAN – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel has been the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran for years. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
The American people have made clear that they do not want to go to war with Iran, but Israel partisans and the Israel lobby use their massive political clout to bring about whatever is beneficial to Israel – including putting the US military in harm’s way. For more background on Israel’s role in American wars, watch IAK’s short film, “The Israeli Hit List.”
The US is “in very deep negotiations” with Iran, President Donald Trump said Saturday, as a delegation led by Vice President JD Vance held hours of talks in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. “They’ve been meeting for many hours,” Trump told journalists as he departed the White House. “We’ll see what happens. Look, regardless, we win. Regardless of what happens, we win.”
SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE:
-
- 21-hour Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad end without agreement, no next round has been scheduled.
- Iran says US made “excessive and illogical demands” on nuclear program and Hormuz.
- US claims Iran rejected its “final and best offer” despite “significant flexibility.”

New Evidence Further Implicates U.S. Missiles in Strikes That Killed 21 Civilians in Iran: A new visual analysis by The New York Times and munitions experts has uncovered additional evidence showing that the weapons that struck a sports hall, a school and two residential areas in the Iranian city of Lamerd were U.S.-made Precision Strike Missiles, or PrSMs. The U.S. military has rejected the conclusions of earlier investigations, and has denied it was attacking there on the day in question, and has claimed the incoming weapon captured on video more closely resembled an Iranian cruise missile.
Contrary to Trump’s statements, Iran still possesses thousands of ballistic missiles that it could use by retrieving launchers from underground storage areas, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, US President Trump said on Friday that Iran’s military “is defeated, Their military is gone. We’ve degraded just about everything. They have very few missiles. They have very little manufacturing capability. We’ve hit them hard.” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has also said Iran’s missile program is “functionally destroyed,” with launchers and missiles largely depleted and ineffective.
The US has lost eight MQ-9 Reaper drones in the Middle East since April 1, raising the total number lost in the Iran conflict to 24, CBS reported. According to the recent report, the financial impact is estimated at around $720 million, since each Reaper drone can cost $30 million or more depending on the model.
