Just a few months after Israeli human rights org B’Tselem released its bombshell report calling Israel an apartheid state, another major group reaches the same conclusion – adding “persecution” to the charge of apartheid. A 200+ page report details Human Rights Watch’s findings.
The UN published its biweekly report on the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories. As usual, Israeli soldiers and settlers carried out numerous attacks, and property damage, including uprooting hundreds of Palestinian farmers’ trees.
The report’s conclusion—that Israel’s denying Palestinians the right of return constitutes a crime against humanity–apparently made HRW’s legal dept uncomfortable enough to halt the report, a decision that one staffer described as “unprincipled and cowardly.”
