The Palestinian movement Hamas said Tuesday that “acceptable approaches” had been reached on the “contentious issues” of a Gaza ceasefire agreement with Israel following talks in Cairo. “The matter depends on the ability of the mediators, guarantor states and the Board of Peace to compel the occupation to stop its violations, killings and siege, and to accept these approaches in order to move into the second phase of the agreement,” he added.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
Israeli produce contaminated by “forever chemicals” from army explosions in Gaza*: New study finds hazardous material has been detected in agricultural land nearly 20 km from the boundary with Gaza.
*NOTE: If forever chemicals are present in Israeli produce 20 km from the border, one must assume that the ground and air inside Gaza are at least as toxic. Israel has destroyed or blocked almost all of Gaza’s farmland.
