A Palestinian child was killed and others, including children, were injured Wednesday in an Israeli strike on a tent sheltering displaced people in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire. One adult was also killed.

Gaza officials warn of ‘silent famine’ as aid deliveries* fall far below planned levels: Early June saw an average of only 5 truckloads of aid per day, vs. the promised 600 truckloads – this after many months of little or no aid, as Israel has kept borders closed.

*NOTE: Not only is Israel blocking Gaza’s ability to feed itself, it is also blocking humanitarian organizations’ ability to feed Gaza. As part of the October 2025 ceasefire agreement, Israel was supposed to restart the full quantity of aid into Gaza (600 trucks a day), along with rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads – none of these commitments have been fulfilled. The UN reports an average of 91 trucks of aid entering Gaza per day, about 16% of the amount agreed upon.

Iran pushing to end Israel’s genocide in Gaza during talks with US: Hamas: Senior Hamas official Bassem Naim reportedly held a call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on 23 June. Araghchi assured Naim that the Iranian negotiators continue to “raise the issue of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza, the occupation’s continuing violations, and what he describes as ongoing genocide.”

Diabetes patients in Gaza face survival battle amid war shortages: Insulin and equipment shortages in Gaza pose fatal risks, leading to critical health complications.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:

Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Israeli forces had killed Zayed with live fire, denied him medical assistance, and withheld his body. Zayed was suffering from cancer.

Israeli forces kill unarmed man ‘in bedroom’ during West Bank home raid: Family says troops shot Mustafa Taha al-Khatib, 32, as he was getting dressed, after forcing their way into his home near Salfit, reportedly because he did not answer the door fast enough.

According to Israeli media, the IDF said troops opened fire after al-Khatib “threw objects at forces*” during a raid linked to stone-throwing incidents on Route 5.

*NOTE: Israel regularly frames all manner of hostile actions as “self-defense” or “retaliatory,” which enables Israel to portray itself as the victim. It often claims that a Palestinian “was suspected of throwing stones” or “was approaching in a threatening way,” or that a group “was about to attack,” or “wants to wipe out all Jews” (read more here – also check out Israel’s history of preemptive strikes).

Our life stops’: West Bank childhood shattered by Israeli military raids: In the first nine months of 2025 alone, Israeli forces carried out nearly 7,500 raids across the occupied West Bank, or about 27 a day, and a 37 percent increase compared with the same period in 2024.

Israel declares 115 acres as ‘state land’ to expand illegal West Bank settlement

A new Israeli settlement project targets the archaeological site of Fasayel Pools in the occupied West Bank, through a plan to restore the site and turn it into a tourist resort and organized swimming area for settlers. The project will receive direct government funding of 3 million shekels (about $1million) allocated by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

Israeli former leaders threaten legal action over ‘Jewish terrorism,’ ‘ideology of ethnic cleansing’: “This letter is a wake-up call and a final warning: We demand that you take all necessary measures to immediately eradicate Jewish terrorism that has been prevalent in [the West Bank] in recent years.” If the Netanyahu government does not condemn and stop the violence, the signatories say they will petition Israel’s high court to force their hand.

The letter, which has not been made public, was sent to the prime minister’s office, the ministries of defense and national security, the military, police, and intelligence services. A copy was seen by the Guardian (more of the letter is quoted and described in the Guardian article).

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.

LEBANON

Israel continues to carry out attacks across southern Lebanon, killing at least three more people Wednesday, including a child. This in spite of reports that continue to insist the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire is holding,

The U.S. has not demanded that Israel withdraw from territory it occupies in southern Lebanon, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz pointed out Wednesday, adding  that “even if there is an American demand,” Israel would remain in Lebanon. The first article of the 60-day interim peace deal conditions an end to the conflict on the “immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon” and “ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon.”
