Israeli occupation forces killed six Palestinians and injured dozens more on Thursday in multiple attacks across the besieged and devastated Gaza Strip, including drone fire, shelling of tents sheltering displaced families, and live ammunition targeting civilians in Rafah, Khan Younis, Deir al‑Balah, and Beit Lahia.

Among the dead is 13‑year‑old Jude Tal‘at Dweik. The child had been trying to obtain food from an aid center when soldiers bombed the area.

ISRAELI MEDIA: ‘We Were Like Animals’: Gaza Flotilla Activists Detail Arrest by Israel: The single Israeli activist recalls: “We were in the floating prison for two days. They set up a kind of enclosure, assembled containers with barbed wire on top, without mattresses or anything. They didn’t even let people take their clothes; they gave bread and water, and that was it.”

Deported flotilla activists allege ‘sadistic’ sexual abuse and torture in Israeli captivity

Israel Prison Service Says Treatment of Flotilla Activists Was ‘According to Procedure’: Ben-Gvir’s video drew widespread international condemnation, with even Netanyahu disavowing the actions, but the Israel Prison Service stood behind its conduct: ‘All actions were carried out in accordance with procedures.’

How Ben-Gvir’s flotilla video shattered Israel’s veneer of innocence: After Israeli commandos illegally abducted 430 activists, and national security head Itamar Ben Gvir posted a video of their abuse, Palestine policy expert Fathi Nimer commented that Ben-Gvir’s brazen video dismantled Israel’s heavily funded narrative of innocence in an instant.

The fundamental assumption of hasbara [propaganda] is that Israel is always right, but the world simply doesn’t understand.

The Israeli leadership is treating this as a public relations crisis, not a moral one.

For Netanyahu, the sin was not the torture or humiliation of the activists; the sin was broadcasting it to the world.

Due to Israel’s deepening isolation following its war on Gaza, the state’s hasbara budget is projected to leap from roughly $15m in 2023 to an unprecedented $700m by 2026.

Israel has a master plan to relocate thousands of Palestinian Bedouins to a giant ghetto: The “Shami neighborhood project” will ethnically cleanse the Bedouin population of Jerusalem’s eastern wilderness as part of Israel’s plan to take total control over the strategic “Greater Jerusalem” corridor, which would split the West Bank in two.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

ISRAEL-US WAR/CEASEFIRE ON IRAN – NEWS & HEADLINES:

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

The U.S. is in “the final stages of Iran,” and that if the Iranians did not convey a satisfactory answer “within a few days,” kinetic operations against Iran would resume, President Trump told reporters.

The Iranian regime reportedly felt the latest U.S. deal proposal has “narrowed the gaps,” according to the Iranian Student News Association. ISNA did not disclose the source for that information.

U.S. bears brunt of Israel’s missile defense, Pentagon assessments show: Amid hostilities with Iran, the American military expended far more advanced interceptors to protect Israel than Israeli forces did, according to Defense Department data.

DEATH TOLL – WAR ON IRAN (tentative):
  • United States: 13 (or more)
  • Iran: at least 3,636 (1,701 civilians, 254 children)
  • Israel: about 40 (19 Israeli soldiers, and 1 friendly fire – including both Iran and Lebanon-related deaths; another count shows 20 Israeli civilian deaths)
  • Arab states (including Palestine, excluding Lebanon), at least 154

ISRAEL’S WAR/CEASEFIRE ON LEBANON – NEWS & HEADLINES:

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

Although Israel signed a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon in November 2024, Israel has attacked Lebanon almost every day since, committing over 10,000 air and ground violations – the most violated ceasefire deal in recorded history. (Read about UNIFIL, the UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, here.)

Hezbollah drone seriously wounds Israeli commander of brigade accused of killing Hind Rajab*Israeli Colonel Meir Biderman, commander of the Israeli military’s 401st Armored Brigade, reportedly suffered serious head injuries Tuesday after a Hezbollah explosive drone penetrated a fortified building where he was operating in south Lebanon. Biderman is the highest-ranking IDF officer injured by Hezbollah since Israel began its war in Lebanon in October 2023. The 401st Armored Brigade which he commands is the same unit whose “Vampire Empire” company is named in a 120-page International Criminal Court complaint accusing it of deliberately killing six-year-old Hind Rajab, six family members, and two paramedics in Gaza City in January 2024.

Poll finds nearly three-quarters of Democratic voters oppose aid to Israel: A new poll from The New York Times/Siena has found that nearly three-quarters of voters aligned with the Democratic Party oppose US military aid to Israel, up from 45% three years ago, as support for Israel continues to drop among US voters. The poll, released on Wednesday, also found that nearly half of Democratic voters said that their party was too supportive of Israel, while 95 percent opposed the US-Israel war on Iran.

Democrats belatedly publish 2024 election autopsy report: ‘It won’t meet your standards’: Notably, the autopsy does not delve deeply into Joe Biden’s decision to run for re-election at age 81. The report makes no mention of the role that the US’s support for Israel’s war on Gaza played in the wider Democratic defeat, despite widespread polling about the impact of those issues.
