Israeli occupation forces killed seven Palestinians and wounded others across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, in a series of shootings, shelling, and demolitions that constitute ongoing violations of the “ceasefire agreement” announced on October 11, 2025, further worsening the humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave.
Growing risk that thousands buried in Gaza’s rubble may never be identified, says Red Cross: Since the “ceasefire” was announced in October, Palestinians have been digging through an estimated 61m tons of debris, about 20 times the combined amount generated by conflicts worldwide since 2008. Beneath the rubble, up to 14,000 remains could be buried. Rescue teams rely on rudimentary tools – shovels, pickaxes, wheelbarrows, rakes and hoes – and their bare hands, as Israel refuses to allow the entry of excavators and other heavy machinery.
The Specter of Famine Returns to Gaza: When a Single Meal Becomes a Daily Dream: Today, as humanitarian operations continue to scale back and the amount of available food declines, the specter of famine is once again looming over Gaza. The situation brings back memories of some of the harshest months endured by the population during the war.
New Cafés in Gaza Can’t Conceal Tent Cities and Mountains of Rubble: Yes, cafés are opening, and people are trying to practice fragments of everyday life, but these scenes do not mean that conditions are improving or that recovery has begun.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

Palestinian detainee dies after 25 years in Israeli prisons*: “In his first years in prison, Imad Rajih Sarhan was subjected to harsh and lengthy interrogations and systematic torture methods, which left serious and lasting health effects on his body, and exacerbated the deterioration of his health condition throughout the years,” the Palestinian Commission of Detainee’s Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a joint statement.
*NOTE: Imprisonment in Israel routinely includes torture, starvation, sexual abuse, and systematic denial of basic rights, alongside degrading and inhumane detention conditions. At least 90 Palestinian detainees, and likely over 100, have died in Israeli prisons since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza; 327 have died since the Israeli occupation of the West Bank in 1967.
Ha’aretz Lead Editorial “A Doctor Belongs in a Hospital, Not a Prison Cell*: Free Abu Safiyah Now: If Israel has evidence against Abu Safiya, it should indict him and present that evidence. If it doesn’t have evidence against him, it needs to release him, and all the other jailed doctors, promptly.
*NOTE: The publication of this editorial in a major Israeli newspaper is a positive sign, but calling for the release of just 13 Palestinian doctors being held in Israel, and not all of the 4,500+ administrative detainees, imprisoned without charge, trial, or the ability to defend themselves, is a missed opportunity, to say the least.

ISRAELI MEDIA: Humiliated by Trump on the Iran Front, Netanyahu May Set the Middle East Ablaze

IRAN & LEBANON – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.
President Donald Trump announced a peace agreement with Iran early Sunday evening. “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” Trump wrote on social media, authorizing “the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade” from the Strait of Hormuz. The deal kicks off 60 days of further negotiations on thorny issues including Iran’s nuclear program. The deal is to be signed on Friday – leaving several full days for Israel to meddle.
Israel bombs Beirut’s southern suburb after Hezbollah drones hit Galilee: Tel Aviv accused Hezbollah of ‘severe’ ceasefire breaches while continuing to bomb south Lebanon and displace its residents.
The Israeli attack on Beirut “should not have happened, particularly on a special day when we are so close to a Peace Deal with Iran,” Trump said In a post. “We are very close to a Deal that will bring peace to the region, including to Lebanon, and all sides should stand down… This could be the beginning of a long and beautiful peace — Let’s not blow it!”
In an interview, Trump also voiced further frustration with Netanyahu, who critics have charged with repeatedly seeking to derail diplomacy. “It is so bad, I couldn’t believe it. An hour before we are supposed to sign the deal,” Trump said. “I was so pissed off. I let him know. He has no [expletive] judgement. I let him know that.”
There is “no point” in continuing efforts to reach a deal with Washington if Tel Aviv remains unrestrained, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned in a statement on Sunday, a few hours after a new Israeli attack on Lebanon’s capital.
Negotiations for a peace deal with the US could be halted if Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue, Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf warned on Sunday. Qalibaf tweeted that the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon reflect the US’ inability to fulfill its commitments.

Israeli ministers call for bombing Beirut despite ceasefire – Netanyahu listens: ‘Dahiyeh* must tremble,’ Israeli national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir said. At least seven people were killed and several others were wounded in the strikes.
*NOTE: This Israeli military strategy of using massive, disproportionate force and deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure is known at the Dahiya Doctrine. International law expressly prohibits the use of disproportionate force and the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, which are war crimes – but obviously, Israeli leaders still openly call for it.

Civil Records for Hundreds of Thousands of Lebanese Could Be Wiped Out By Israel’s Total War: Aerial imagery from one region shows what residents describe as burn marks at sites where official records were kept: civil registration files, land deeds, the paper infrastructure of a city’s legal existence. A quarter million Lebanese people may have lost the proof of who they are and what they own.

Lebanon Tells UN That Israel Is Using Herbicide as a Weapon: Though deployment of herbicides in a warzone isn’t automatically a violation of international law in and of itself, it likely is when the chemicals are of dubious safety at such high concentrations, and when their use against farmland threatens the long-term survival of the population.

MORE NEWS & HEADLINES:
ISRAELI MEDIA: EU’s Kallas Accused of Antisemitism* After Reportedly Comparing Israel to Apartheid**: A Brussels-based outlet reported that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas compared Israel’s treatment of Palestinians to apartheid-era South Africa, prompting the American Jewish Committee to say the alleged remarks ‘fuel a dangerous campaign to delegitimize Israel.’
*NOTE: Actual antisemitism (i.e.”Jew-hatred”) is not as prevalent as Israel partisans – like the American Jewish Committee – would like us to think. A large portion of what they call antisemitism is simply criticism of Israel, the self-proclaimed “Jewish State,” in other words, opposition to Zionism.
Zionism is not a benign philosophy, but a supremacist ideology – the ideology under which Israel dispossessed 750,000 Palestinian people and exiled them to Gaza and other locations. The so-called “delegitimization” of Israel is in most cases a legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies of occupation, apartheid, and genocide, and other illegal practices.
**NOTE: Human rights groups have been speaking in some cases for years of Israel’s apartheid framework, which extends in various forms across Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and inside Israel (where 21% of residents are Palestinian). Multiple human rights organizations have documented and reported that Israel is indeed practicing apartheid, including: Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the Israeli human rights groups B’Tselem, and Yesh Din, the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, the International Court of Justice, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and Harvard Law School’s International Human Rights Clinic.
