NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:

For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim thisthis, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of Palestinians being killed in Gaza is lower since the October 2025 “ceasefire” began, about 280 days ago – about 4 per day, vs. over 100 per day during the 733 days of the “war.” But Israel is actively working (with Trump’s “Board of Peace“) to ethnically cleanse Gaza of its Palestinian population, even as the low-level killing continues. Genocide experts, along organizations like the United Nations and Amnesty International, maintain that the genocide is ongoing.

At least eight Palestinians were killed and 20 others injured Friday when an Israeli drone reportedly struck a civilian gathering during the funeral of a Palestinian who had been killed earlier by Israeli forces in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, despite a ceasefire.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

Israel pushes its “Yellow Line” to Gaza’s main north-south arteryIsraeli forces entered Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood under heavy gunfire, killing one Palestinian, wounding three others, destroying homes and shops, and forcing families to flee, according to reporting from Drop Site contributor Mohamed Ahmed. “It was a bloody night… We don’t know where to flee to,” one resident said.

By morning, they had pushed the “yellow line,” the boundary marking the edge of Israeli military control, in violation of the October 2025 agreement, to Salah al-Din Road—the 45-kilometer artery connecting northern and southern Gaza and passing through every governorate.

Trump’s Board of Peace drops full Gaza recovery plan in favor of tiny pilot scheme: The Gaza recovery plan being pursued by Donald Trump’s Board of Peace (BoP) has shrunk dramatically from an ambitious blueprint for the reconstruction of the whole territory to a small pilot project in the south of the strip. Even the envisaged pilot scheme – a temporary camp for a tiny fraction of Gaza’s 2 million displaced people, with a Palestinian administration – is not expected to take shape before the end of the year.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:

Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and thisFor information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)

Israeli settlers* escalate violent takeover of Palestinian homes in areas under Palestinian Authority control: Israeli settlers have begun to escalate their colonization of Palestinian homes and lands in areas of the West Bank under ostensible Palestinian control, setting a dangerous precedent for Israel to completely take over the territory.

*NOTE: Israeli settlers – many fueled by extremism – have carried out a number of mass attacks or “pogroms” – in addition to countless small-scale attacks. These well-organized groups aim to destroy the West Bank economy and/or drive out the indigenous Palestinians (including Palestinian Christians). Settlers enjoy impunity – even support and assistance from the Israeli government and military – as they attack Palestinians on a daily basis. Meanwhile Palestinians are not allowed to own weapons.

Israeli Settlers Filmed Taking Palestinian Livestock Under IDF Protection: Residents of Umm al-Khair in the South Hebron Hills say settlers entered livestock pens and removed dozens of sheep and goats under soldiers’ watch, and beat two women. The IDF said four Palestinians were detained.

Translation: Military forces are securing settlers who are removing a flock of sheep from a Palestinian pen in the village of Awnizil.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

ISRAELI MEDIA: IDF Opened Dozens of Probes Into Deaths of Detained Gazans*. No One Was Charged: In most investigations, the army doesn’t know the potential suspects or when the deaths occurred – even in closed, filmed facilities. Investigations into looting and violence also did not lead to indictments. The IDF responded that it abides by international law and its values.

*NOTE: Imprisonment in Israel routinely includes torture, starvation, sexual abuse, and systematic denial of basic rights, alongside degrading and inhumane detention conditions. At least 90 Palestinian detainees, and likely over 100, have died in Israeli prisons since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza; at least 327 have died since the Israeli occupation of the West Bank in 1967.

ISRAELI MEDIA: Israel Is Bleeding Support in the U.S. – and Pouring Tens of Millions Into Trying to Change That: Polls show a deterioration of Israel’s standing, even among segments of the American population traditionally considered pro-Israel. The campaigns financed by the Israeli government, aimed to influence Christian conservatives, are now attempting to justify the deeply unpopular Iran war.

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.

Iran says 50 killed, over 500 injured in US strikes since June 27: Among those killed were 5 women, and 2 children and teens under 18;  wounded included 32 women, and 18 children and teenagers.

CENTCOM stated, “More than 50,000 American service members are operating across the Middle East and remain vigilant, lethal, and ready.” Iran carried out retaliatory strikes on US assets in the region.

AIPAC* removes donation options for House Democrats who voted to cut aid to Israel on site: AIPAC stated it was “disappointed by the 103 Democrats who voted with Massie to weaken America and our ally Israel.”

Donation links were removed on Thursday or Friday for donations to House Minority Whip Catherine Clark (D-Mass.) and Reps. Jake Auchincloss (D-Mass.), Adam Smith (D-Wash.), Pat Ryan (D-N.Y.), Brittany Pettersen (D-Colo.), Richard Neal (D-Mass.), Joe Neguse (D-Colo.), Seth Magaziner (D-R.I.), Bill Keating (D-Mass.), Glenn Ivey (D-Md.), Steven Horsford (D-Nev.), Josh Harder (D-Calif.), Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.), Laura Friedman (D-Calif.), and Gabe Amo (D-R.I.).

*NOTE: For years, the pro-Israel lobby has had a tight grip on Congress and Western mainstream media. The most powerful lobbying group is AIPAC, the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, which by law should be registered as a foreign agent. AIPAC is on a mission to keep Congress filled with the best pro-Israel legislators that money can buy. The group “babysits” each Congress member that has accepted AIPAC donations, to make sure they vote for any bill that helps Israel.
