ISRAEL-US WAR/CEASEFIRE ON IRAN – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel has been the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran for years. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
The American people have made clear that they do not want to go to war with Iran, but Israel partisans and the Israel lobby use their massive political clout to bring about whatever is beneficial to Israel – including putting the US military in harm’s way. For more background on Israel’s role in American wars, watch IAK’s short film, “The Israeli Hit List.”
Israeli Military Chief Approves Plans for Attack on Iran and Lebanon: On Wednesday, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said he “approved plans for the continuation [of the war] – both in Lebanon and in Iran,” as Washington and Tehran attempt to broker a deal to end the conflict.
US prepares for more fighting, possible ground ops, in Iran: The Pentagon is sending thousands of additional troops into the Middle East in the coming days, as the Trump administration attempts to pressure Iran into a deal that could end the weeks-long conflict there while considering the possibility of additional strikes or ground operations if a fragile ceasefire does not hold, U.S. officials said.
Iran used Chinese spy satellite to target US bases: Leaked documents show IRGC secretly acquired system and used it to guide strikes during war in March.

- Arab states (including Palestine, excluding Lebanon), at least 154

ISRAEL’S WAR ON LEBANON – NEWS & HEADLINES:
Although Israel signed a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon in November 2024, Israel has attacked Lebanon almost every day since, committing over 10,000 air and ground violations – the most violated ceasefire deal in recorded history – and killing at least 397. Additionally, Israel continues to occupy five Lebanese hilltops seized during the latest war, and other Lebanese areas it has held for decades. (Read about UNIFIL, the UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, here.)
Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Have Killed 172 Children as Attacks Target Homes* Far From Hezbollah War Front Lines: Israel has often struck alleged Hezbollah militants or officials in their homes without warning, frequently in parts of Lebanon far from the front line, when they are with their families, in apartment buildings surrounded by uninvolved neighbors.
*NOTE: During the pre-“ceasefire” days of the Gaza genocide, Israel used the same strategy, employing AI to systematically attack targeted people at home, while they were surrounded by family, instead of while they were engaged in military activity. One of the AI systems was called “Where’s Daddy?”
Israel launches operation to demolish homes in frontline villages in Lebanon: Report: Army identifies more than 20 villages in southern Lebanon for home demolitions. The military reportedly does not intend to allow Lebanese residents to return to the area “until security is restored” for residents of northern Israel.

DEATH TOLL – WAR ON LEBANON (tentative):
- In Lebanon, at least 2,124 people have been killed

Eight Palestinians were killed by Israeli army fire in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, in the latest violation of a ceasefire agreement in effect since last October, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.
“My Daughter Went Out to Learn, Not to Fight”: Gaza Grieves More Children Killed by Israel: Since the agreement went into effect, over 760 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry—the equivalent of four Palestinians being killed every day for six months. Over 2,100 have been wounded. At least 180 children have been killed over this period.
War Pollutants May Be Poisoning a Generation of Mothers and Their Babies in Gaza: The impact of war goes beyond immediate destruction, quietly shaping the health of future generations.
Born into war, raised across borders: The story of Gaza’s premature babies separated from their parents amid Israel’s genocide: In the corners of war, loss is not measured only in the number of the dead. It is measured in the invisible distances planted between bodies and hearts, in the space between a mother’s arms and the child she was not allowed to hold. Dozens of premature babies born at the most brutal moments of Israel’s siege of Gaza were taken from their mothers and transferred across borders without farewell.
Gaza flooded with sweets as fuel and medicine withheld, health official warns: The director-general of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir Al-Barsh, has described a catastrophic situation in the besieged enclave, saying that it is being flooded with chocolate and soft drinks while fuel, medicine and basic food are withheld, leaving infants in incubators at constant risk of death. Al-Barsh said that the situation is not a temporary shortage but a deliberate manipulation of aid, masking ongoing starvation and continued killings despite claims of a ceasefire.
Gaza’s health system and patients face total collapse: Gaza health officials said that more than 20,000 wounded and chronically ill Palestinians urgently require medical evacuation abroad for treatment that is no longer available inside Gaza – 440 classified as “life‑saving” cases, 4,500 children, 6,000 wounded, and 4,000 cancer patients. 1,268 patients have reportedly died while waiting for permission to leave Gaza for treatment since the Israeli army seized the Rafah Crossing.
International journalists appeal to Israeli Supreme Court for Gaza access: Israel has banned foreign journalists from entering Gaza independently since Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack. The Foreign Press Association filed a petition seeking entry in September 2024, but the Israeli government has repeatedly delayed the proceedings, in what the FPA called a “mockery of the legal process.”
DEATH TOLL – GAZA GENOCIDE (tentative):
- At least 760 since ceasefire began Oct. 11, 2025
- 72,344 killed (~22,000 children, 33,000 women and girls) since October 2023

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

Five soldiers were implicated in the abuse of a Palestinian detainee at the notorious Sde Teiman detention center in 2024. Last month, the charges against the soldiers were dropped. No internal military investigation into the incident has been carried out. The abuse was captured on surveillance cameras.

Israel appoints 1st ambassador to Somalia’s breakaway region in controversial move: On 26 December 2025, Israel became the first country and UN member state to formally recognize Somaliland as an independent country, although it broke away from Somalia in 1991. Palestinians fear that Israel will forcibly relocate residents of Gaza to Somaliland in an act of ethnic cleansing.

Bernie Sanders’ effort to block US weapons sales to Israel fails in Senate; On Wednesday, 40 of the 47 Democratic senators backed a resolution brought by Bernie Sanders that would have prevented the sale of $295m in armored bulldozers, and 36 members voted for a second resolution that would have halted a $151.8m sale of 12,000 1,000-lb bombs to Israel’s military. The vote shows a growing appetite among Democrats to impose limits on aid to Israel.
