The village of Nabi Saleh, home to ordinary Palestinian families, has peacefully resisted Israel’s ongoing confiscation of their land for years. On Friday, the community was shattered by the senseless death of yet another of their own at the hands of Israeli forces.
Jewish author Michael Lesher – who blogs for the Times of Israel, among other outlets – muses on many Jewish leaders’ responses to the recent attack on Gaza: “trust in God and believe in Jewish infallibility.” Lesher suggests that instead, they should “devote their efforts toward restraining the Israeli war machine,” and consider the consequences of “[building a] future on a foundation of stolen property and murdered children.”
A quarter of Jewish voters polled by the Jewish Electorate Institute said they believed Israel is an apartheid state. This number rises to 38% for voters under 40.

The chief of staff, Rivka Ravitz, is an ultra-orthodox Israeli who lived in an Israeli settlement for many years, where her husband was deputy mayor. Biden promised his support for Israel was ‘engraved in stone.’

When the occupied and abused Palestinians object and fight back to the best of their ability as they did from Gaza, which they are entitled to under international law, they are massacred and described conveniently as “terrorists.” When any congressperson – eg Ilhan Omar – speaks out against Israel’s human rights violations, they are attacked.
