(It is difficult to characterize the current situation in Gaza a “ceasefire,” when Israel has killed over 200 Palestinians. If Americans Knew considers Friday to be Day 756 of Israel’s war on Gaza)
The Israeli army killed at least five Palestinians in renewed attacks across the Gaza Strip on Friday, despite announcing a resumption of the ceasefire earlier in the week.
Since the “ceasefire” began, Israel has killed 226 Palestinians, including 85 children, with approximately 600 others injured, and violated the truce agreement at least 125 times.

Evidence shows Palestinians executed after torture, vehicle run-overs
Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis said Friday that it received the bodies of 30 Palestinians released by Israel through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), raising the total number of bodies received to 225 since Oct. 14 under the ceasefire deal.
Medical and field evidence accompanying the handover of Palestinian bodies indicates they were subjected to summary executions following torture, restraint, and being run over by military vehicles, the Prisoners’ Information Office affiliated with Hamas said on Friday.
“Traces of torture, handcuffing, burns, and crushing by military vehicles were found on their bodies,” the information office said in a statement (continue reading here).

UN: “87% of Gaza’s Farmland Damaged in 2025”
The United Nations has confirmed that nearly nine out of ten agricultural zones in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed due to sustained Israeli military operations throughout 2025. The destruction includes cropland, greenhouses, irrigation wells, and other vital infrastructure essential for food production and survival.
UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) findings show that 87% of Gaza’s farmland and irrigation wells have been affected, with only 37% of damaged farmland currently accessible for rehabilitation, following the ceasefire, and 600 hectares (about 1,500 acres) intact, offering a narrow window for restarting food production.
The report warns that Gaza’s agricultural base has been systematically dismantled, with repeated strikes targeting food-producing assets. This has triggered a collapse in local food systems, compounded by livestock losses and the near-total halt of dairy production.

Israel’s ‘Yellow Line’ is redrawing Gaza and preventing displaced Palestinians from returning home
Under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, Israel drew new boundaries for its withdrawal from the Strip, encompassing more than 58% of Gaza’s total area, and named it the “Yellow Line.” Israel says it will not withdraw from this area until it verifies that Hamas has been fully disarmed during the second phase of the agreement.
Major cities, or what is left of them, lie on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line. Thousands of Gaza families are banned from returning to their destroyed homes and neighborhoods within these boundaries, leaving them displaced indefinitely in southern shelters.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli government is considering expanding the Yellow Line to include 70% of the Gaza Strip—something the US administration opposes (continue reading here).

The remains handed over by Hamas Friday night do not match any known Israeli hostages, a preliminary examination at the Institute of Forensic Medicine concluded Saturday morning.
Israel received notice in advance that Hamas was unsure about the identity of the remains and that they may not belong to the hostages.
Hamas had offered to send Israel samples from unidentified remains, but Israel reportedly refused, asking for the remains themselves for examination.

Leaked US State Department docs unveil first formal acknowledgment of Israeli units committing gross rights abuses
A classified US State Department report found that Israeli soldiers committed “many hundreds” of potential violations of US human rights law in the Gaza Strip that would require “multiple years” to review, the Washington Post reported on 31 October.
The report has, for the first time, “acknowledged the scale of Israeli actions in Gaza that fall under the purview of Leahy Laws, the landmark legislation that bars US security assistance to foreign military units credibly accused of gross human rights abuses,” the newspaper wrote.
However the report “raised doubts about the prospects for accountability for Israel’s actions given the large backlog of incidents and the nature of the review process, which is deferential to the Israel Defense Forces,” The Post added (continue reading here).

Zohran Mamdani’s historic run will also help free Jews, and U.S. politics, from Zionism
Zohran Mamdani’s historic run for New York mayor is a huge moment for Jewish identity, giving a boost to Jews who argue that Judaism is not synonymous with Zionism.
According to polls, two out of three young Jews are expected to vote for Mamdani, and overall, a substantial minority of Jews will support him (43 percent).
These Jews accept or even celebrate Mamdani’s Palestinian solidarity. Mamdani takes positions that were previously a third rail in politics: He supports BDS against Israel, he says Israel committed a genocide in Gaza, and he says he would seek to arrest Netanyahu as a war criminal if he came to New York (continue reading here).
