NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:
For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.
Two Palestinians were killed Saturday, one of them a doctor, after Israeli warplanes and artillery carried out multiple attacks across the Gaza Strip. Strikes targeted residential areas, markets, and densely populated neighborhoods in the central, northern, and eastern parts of the besieged enclave. Among the dead was Dr. Jamal Abu Aoun, head of the Anesthesia Department at Yaffa Hospital and a resident of the Al‑Bureij refugee camp.
‘To call it a ceasefire is a joke’: Israeli soldiers share rare accounts from Gaza with AP: Israeli soldiers confirmed that a state of “confusion and disarray” prevails within the army inside the besieged enclave, amid a complete lack of clarity regarding the rules of engagement surrounding the Yellow Line. They asserted that some forces treated killings as routine, and some even seemed to take pleasure in killing Palestinians.
DEATH TOLL – GAZA GENOCIDE (tentative):
- At least 929 since ceasefire began Oct. 11, 2025
- 72,819 killed (~22,000 children, 33,000 women and girls) since October 2023

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:
Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)
ISRAELI MEDIA: Seven Palestinians Wounded in West Bank Settler* Raid, Some by IDF Fire: In the West Bank village of Madama, Israeli settlers reportedly attempted to steal sheep, and attacked Palestinians with clubs, pepper spray, and stones after they tried to resist. Shortly after the attack, the IDF, outpost security personnel, and additional settlers arrived, opened fire, and prevented village residents from reaching the wounded.
*NOTE: More than 700,000 settlers live illegally on Palestinian land in over 500 settlements and settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Some settler groups have a history of violence against Palestinians, often with the assistance of Israeli military forces. Learn more about Israeli settler violence here and here.

*NOTE: Most home demolitions ordered by Israel are due to Palestinians’ “building without a permit.” Israel admits that its construction permit system is highly discriminatory. Between 2016 and 2020, 99.1 percent of Palestinian requests for building permits were rejected, according to data provided by the IDF’s Civil Administration. According to UN data, at least 13,800 homes have been demolished, displacing over 22,000 Palestinians, since 2009.
Israel has ordered the demolition of dozens of Palestinian homes in the Silwan district of East Jerusalem in the past two years, to make room for a biblical theme park. The park will focus exclusively on the city’s Jewish past, although many Israeli archaeologists point out that visible remains date to other eras, before and after King David’s iron-age reign. These efforts exemplify Israel’s approach to all things Palestinian: erasure.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
ISRAELI MEDIA: All of Israel’s Rotten Apples Shelter in the Shade of a Single Tree: Netanyahu: In the ocean of corruption and criminality that surrounds Benjamin Netanyahu, the only beacon of truth is Israel’s attorney general. The prime minister has nothing to offer his voters except for short, cynical videos.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Did Netanyahu buy bot followers? Instagram gains tens of thousands overnight: Online users, who are questioning whether this reflects a genuine and unexplained burst of popularity for Netanyahu, or artificial “bots” created and purchased to generate that impression. Fake followers are banned by major platforms, and can trigger penalties.
ISRAEL-US WAR/CEASEFIRE ON IRAN – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
An Iranian ballistic missile reportedly struck Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait, injuring five Americans who were active duty personnel or contractors, and destroying at least one $30 million U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone.
Israeli insiders blame US President Trump for rejecting Kurdish involvement in the war with Iran: A senior Israeli intelligence source has reportedly revealed, “The plan to overthrow the Iranian regime with Kurdish cooperation was comprehensive and detailed. We invested enormous resources and energy into it,” adding, “but Washington hit the brakes at the last minute.” Trump said at the time, “[The Kurds are] willing to go in, but I’ve told them I don’t want them to go in. The war is complicated enough as it is.”
DEATH TOLL – WAR ON IRAN (tentative):
- United States: 13 (or more)
- Iran: at least 3,636 (1,701 civilians, 254 children)
- Israel: about 40 (19 Israeli soldiers, and 1 friendly fire – including both Iran and Lebanon-related deaths; another count shows 20 Israeli civilian deaths)
- Arab states (including Palestine, excluding Lebanon), at least 154

ISRAEL’S WAR/CEASEFIRE ON LEBANON – NEWS & HEADLINES:
Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.
A fresh wave of Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon killed at least six people and wounded 16 others, including two soldiers, on Saturday.
Israeli forces have reached Lebanese villages and towns north of the Litani River, and the outskirts of the city of Nabatieh, according to a senior Lebanese military source. He added, “the Lebanese army has evacuated its positions from villages and towns that have come under Israeli control.”

“Israel is pursuing a policy of comprehensive destruction that goes beyond targeting specific locations in Lebanon,” said Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Saturday, adding, “What Israel is doing is not only a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty but also an attempt to erase history.”
