AID REACHING GAZA IS JUST 15% OF THE MINIMUM NEEDED: Gaza’s Government Media Office has released figures covering the past 30 days of aid deliveries into the enclave, since Israel announced it would allow trucks to enter beginning on July 27, 2025: an average of just 88 trucks per day, or 15 percent of what is needed, according to the Gaza media office. Israel claims it allows 3-400 trucks per day. UNRWA says 5-600 trucks per day are the minimum required to meet Gaza’s basic humanitarian needs.

ISRAEL’S ATTACKS ON WEST BANK CIVIL SOCIETY “SYSTEMATIC ACTS OF PIRACY”: The Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO) strongly condemned Israel’s raid on Ramallah on Tuesday. PNGO considers the raid, alongside the theft of Palestinian tax revenues, the persistent siege and closure of Palestinian towns and cities, restrictions on movement, and destruction of agricultural resources, as systematic acts of piracy aimed at undermining the Palestinian economy.

Israel claims to be investigating drone strike that killed 5 Gaza journalists
On Tuesday, the day after killing 20 Palestinians including 5 journalists, the Israeli military released what it said was the initial results of its investigation*.
The military claimed that soldiers were aiming to destroy a camera in the Nasser hospital area used by Hamas to surveil the Israeli army. It further claimed that six of those killed in the strike were “terrorists.”**
The statement, however, failed to address basic questions, like why a double-tap strike was used and whether anyone would be held accountable for the killing of civilians.
88% of Israel’s investigations into war crime allegations in Gaza were shut down or left unresolved, including investigations into the killing of at least 112 Palestinians in the “flour massacre” (February 2024) and an airstrike that killed 45 Palestinians in a tent encampment in May 2024 (continue reading here).
*NOTE: Israel’s self-investigations – on the rare occasions when they do take place – consistently whitewash its crimes and fail to appropriately punish the perpetrators.
Israel has a long track record of lying.
**The use of the word “terrorist” for groups – like Hamas – that resist occupation and oppression is a political, not fact-based choice. In reality, international law supports the efforts of resistance groups against an occupying power, the UN extending that right to the point of armed resistance.

Discontent was reported within the Israeli army’s Sayeret Givati unit after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed “deep regret” for a deadly strike on a hospital in southern Gaza that left 20 people dead, including five journalists, local media said Tuesday.
Troops reportedly said they hope he apologizes to the fighters instead.
The outlet said Israeli soldiers confirmed the strike was approved and coordinated with the senior command (continue reading here).

Netanyahu backs settler attacks in West Bank, signals move to annex territory
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening encouraged settlers to continue their attacks on Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, while hinting at its imminent annexation under Israeli sovereignty.
According to Israel’s Channel 7, Netanyahu said (speaking about settlers assaults against Palestinians), “The entire people of Israel trust the heroism of our sons.” He added: “From Judea and Samaria [the biblical term for the West Bank] and from all parts of the Land of Israel, we are protecting this land.”
Netanyahu also said: “I promised 25 years ago that we would plant our roots, and we did so together. I said we would prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, and we are doing that together.”

DNC Votes Down “Overwhelming Popular Position” Calling for Arms Ban to Israel
In the latest party turmoil over Israel’s war on Gaza, Democratic National Committee members voted on Tuesday to kill a resolution calling on the U.S. to halt arms sales to Israel.
The resolution had been met with resistance from DNC Chair Ken Martin, despite polls showing overwhelming opposition to Israel’s military actions in Gaza from Democratic voters. The weapons ban resolution was put forward by a first-time DNC member to represent the views of younger party members.
“While it’s disappointing that DNC leadership wasn’t able to recognize that this is an overwhelming popular position, a 90-10 issue within its base, it started a conversation,” the resolution’s author, 26-year-old DNC member Allison Minnerly, told The Intercept. “As we approach 2026, it’s not going to go away, the more we delay having a hard conversation like this one” (continue reading here).

US groups demand release of American-Palestinian teen imprisoned by Israel
More than 100 US human rights, faith-based and civil rights groups have demanded that the secretary of state, Marco Rubio, immediately secure the release of a 16-year-old dual American-Palestinian citizen who has been in an Israeli prison for six months over allegations of rock throwing.
The coalition warned that Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim’s deteriorating health puts “his life on the line” and demanded urgent US intervention.
“Mohammed is an American child with a community in Florida who cares about him deeply,” the organizations wrote in the letter. “It is the responsibility of the US government to protect all American children, including Palestinian-Americans” (continue reading here).

HRW: US Forces Can Be Liable for Assisting Israeli War Crimes in Gaza
US officials have acknowledged that since hostilities between Palestinian armed groups and Israel began on October 7, 2023, the United States has provided Israel with extensive actionable intelligence used to strike targets in Gaza, along with extensive coordination, planning, and intelligence gathering with Israeli forces to target Hamas leaders.
The US government’s provision of arms to Israel, which have repeatedly been used to carry out apparent war crimes, has made the United States complicit in their unlawful use.
Human Rights Watch has long called on the United States and other governments to do more to prevent further atrocities by the Israeli government, including by ending arms sales and military assistance, imposing targeted sanctions on Israeli officials, and suspending preferential trade agreements (continue reading here).
