In Gaza, Israeli forces have killed at least 89 Palestinians, including 70 people seeking food aid in the city of Khan Younis. Israeli soldiers used tank shells, machine guns and drones on the hungry crowd seeking aid in Gaza, making it the deadliest day so far around sites of the Israel- and US-backed aid group GHF.

‘People in Gaza either die of hunger or get killed searching for food’
Crowds of desperate and hungry Palestinians walk through bombed-out neighborhoods of what were once their homes in the northern Gaza Strip.
They start walking in the evening, hoping they can be the first to get their hands on a bag of flour. They don’t even know if the flour trucks will be there in the next few hours, or at all that day. It’s a chance, they say, they can’t miss.
Israel has recently allowed limited supplies of flour to enter the north of Gaza. There’s no clear distribution mechanism, and desperate families say they have no choice but to try and grab it directly from the trucks.
There’s barely any food left in the local market here in Gaza City. Even the little vegetables that make their way from farms in the south of Gaza are too expensive. Two tomatoes cost up to $8 – almost impossible for the majority to buy. People here say they either die of hunger or get killed searching for food.
IRAN-ISRAEL NEWS SNAPSHOTS:
The death toll from Israel’s attacks on Iran has risen to more than 240, including 70 women and children. More than 24 people have been killed in Iranian attacks on Israel.
Iran’s Defense Ministry says it used “missiles that could not be tracked or intercepted” to strike an Israeli intelligence facility on Tuesday, claiming the attack penetrated multiple layers of air defenses. A spokesman promised other advanced weapons will be used in the coming days.
Israel’s ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, referenced in an interview last year’s pager attack against Hezbollah while hinting at upcoming military operations against Iran. “We’ve pulled off a number of surprises – when the dust settles – you’re going to see some surprises on Thursday night and Friday, that will make the beeper operation almost seem simple.”
Since Israel launched its unprecedented military operation against Iran on 13 June, at least four journalists and media workers have lost their lives, and several newsrooms have been damaged, including a targeted attack on Iran’s State broadcaster, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Iran targets Israel’s Unit 8200 near Tel Aviv
Iranian ballistic missiles targeted Israeli Military Intelligence Unit 8200 at the Glilot base near Tel Aviv on 17 June, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced – as part of the ninth phase of Operation True Promise 3.
Iran Screenshot reported, “Unit 8200 building collapsed and burning in Herzliya. Israeli military intelligence administration has been hit in the IRGC attack. The last four waves of silent strikes were dangerous, as all targets were intelligence buildings. It now appears that many of these were exposed through leaked documents, since they were notoriously hidden behind residential complexes.

Trump’s Iran Choice: Last-Chance Diplomacy or a Bunker-Busting Bomb
President Trump is weighing a critical decision in the four-day-old war between Israel and Iran: whether to enter the fray by helping Israel destroy the deeply buried nuclear enrichment facility at Fordo, which only America’s biggest “bunker buster,” dropped by American B-2 bombers, can reach.
If he decides to go ahead, the United States will become a direct participant in a new conflict in the Middle East, taking on Iran in exactly the kind of war Mr. Trump has sworn, in two campaigns, he would avoid. Iranian officials have already warned that U.S. participation in an attack on its facilities will imperil any remaining chance of the nuclear disarmament deal that Mr. Trump insists he is still interested in pursuing.
Mr. Trump had at one point encouraged his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and possibly Vice President JD Vance, to offer to meet the Iranians, according to a U.S. official. But on Monday Mr. Trump posted on social media that “everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran,” hardly a sign of diplomatic progress.
Mr. Trump also said on Monday that “I think Iran basically is at the negotiating table, they want to make a deal” (continue reading here).

Iran accuses EU of acting as Israel’s ‘apologist’
The spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry implied that the European Union is acting as a defender of Israel, not peace, after the EU’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas raised concerns over Tehran’s nuclear program.
In a post on X, Esmaeil Baghaei directly addressed Kallas, urging her to “please stop acting as the aggressor’s apologist,” adding, “How can you express concern over Iran’s peaceful program that is under the most robust IAEA inspections and ignore the fact that the Israeli regime has a huge arsenal of nuclear weapons?!”
Baghaei reaffirmed Iran’s position that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.
While Iran is a signatory to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Israel is not a signatory, and is widely believed to possess nuclear arms – although it has never publicly admitted it.
“Iran has never sought nuclear weapons,” Baghaei added, “unlike the aggressor that is the only barrier to a Middle East free from nuclear weapons – a goal Iran has advocated since 1974.”

A survey by YouGov shows that some 60 percent of Americans surveyed think the US military should not get involved in the ongoing hostilities.
Only 16 percent favored US involvement, while 24 percent said they were not sure.
US lawmaker introduces bill to limit Trump’s power to strike Iran
Congressman Thomas Massie, a member of Trump’s Republican Party, has introduced a measure that would require the US president to seek the approval of Congress before attacking Iran.
The bill orders Trump to “terminate” any attacks on Iran that are not authorized by lawmakers.
On Monday, a similar measure was introduced in the Senate.

Trump shares cryptic text from his ambassador to Israel
The US president posted a screenshot of a text message with religious overtones that he said was from his Israel envoy Mike Huckabee.
The message suggests that Trump is faced with a major decision without elaborating on its details.
“You have many voices speaking to you Sir, but there is only ONE voice that matters. HIS voice,” it reads, referring to God.
Huckabee is a devout Christian Zionist.
“No president in my lifetime has been in a position like yours. Not since Truman in 1945. I don’t reach out to persuade you,” the text said. “Only to encourage you. I believe you will hear from heaven and that voice is far more important than mine or ANYONE else’s.”
Former President Harry Truman saw the end of World War II and authorized dropping two nuclear bombs on Japan.

Israel ‘Brutally Attacks’ Palestinian Detainees Accused of Celebrating Iran’s Strikes
The Palestinian Prisoners Club accused the Israeli Prison Service on Tuesday of carrying out brutal attacks on Palestinian detainees in recent days, after storming their cells to retaliate for allegedly celebrating the Iranian bombing of Israel.
“Israeli repression forces stormed the prisoners’ cells, accompanied by police dogs, and assaulted them with batons and tear gas after handcuffing them,” the organization’s President Amjad al-Najjar said, according to an Al Jazeera Arabic report.
Al-Najjar cited a video documenting a brutal attack by Israeli special forces on Palestinian prisoners under the pretext that they were celebrating the Iranian bombing of Israel.
He believed that the Israeli authorities are singling out prisoners, given the global and media preoccupation with the Israeli attack on Iran.
“Prisoners are subjected to brutal and retaliatory attacks, and there are fears of the loss and killing of prisoners every day,” al-Najjar stated (continue reading here).

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), on Israel’s deadly attack on Iran’s state broadcaster on Monday:
Media professionals in areas of armed conflict must be treated and protected as civilians and allowed to perform their work without interference.
The IFJ urges warring parties to refrain from attacking journalists and media facilities and calls on media organizations and employers to do their utmost to ensure the safety of their employees, such as allowing them to work from home if newsrooms are located close to potential targets.
