ISRAEL-US WAR/CEASEFIRE ON IRAN – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
The American people have made clear that they do not want the US embroiled in a war with Iran, but Israel partisans and the Israel lobby use their massive political clout to bring about whatever is beneficial to Israel – including putting the US military in harm’s way. For more background on Israel’s role in American wars, watch IAK’s short film, “The Israeli Hit List.”
Trump cancels his envoys’ Pakistan trip for Iran ceasefire negotiations (no Iranian officials will meet with them): The White House on Friday said the US president was sending Witkoff and Kushner to meet with Araghchi. But Iran’s foreign ministry said any talks would be indirect and Pakistani officials would convey messages.
Iranian Group Submits Evidence of US-Israeli War Crimes to International Criminal Court: “The ICC prosecutor announced that the documents provided by the IRCS are accepted as official evidence,” said Pir-Hossein Koulivand, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society. The IRCS estimates that US and Israeli airstrikes have destroyed more than 132,000 civilian structures throughout Iran, including hospitals, apartment buildings, universities, research facilities, and bridges. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to destroy all of Iran’s bridges and power plants if the country’s leadership does not succumb to his administration’s demands in negotiations to end the war.
Iran says most missile capabilities ‘unused’ in war with US: Report
Iran caused more extensive damage to U.S. military bases than publicly known: U.S. bases and equipment across the Middle East came under attack — including from an Iranian F-5, despite American air defenses — and repairs could cost billions of dollars. “No one knows anything. And it’s not for lack of asking,” one congressional aide said. “We have been asking for weeks and not getting specifics, even as the Pentagon is asking for a record high budget.”
DEATH TOLL – WAR ON IRAN (tentative):

- Iran: at least 3,636 (1,701 civilians, 254 children)
- Israel: 30 (including 16 Israeli soldiers, and 1 friendly fire – including both Iran and Lebanon-related deaths; another count shows 20 Israeli civilian deaths)
- Arab states (including Palestine, excluding Lebanon), at least 154

ISRAEL’S WAR/CEASEFIRE ON LEBANON – NEWS & HEADLINES:
Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.
Although Israel signed a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon in November 2024, Israel has attacked Lebanon almost every day since, committing over 10,000 air and ground violations – the most violated ceasefire deal in recorded history – and killing at least 397. (Read about UNIFIL, the UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, here.)
UN report on deaths and displacement in Lebanon: A UN Human Rights report published today on deaths and displacement in Lebanon during the first three weeks of the recent escalation of hostilities, between Hezbollah and the Israeli military, documents the significant, ongoing impact on a wide range of human rights. These include the rights to life, health, education, food, housing, work, a safe environment, freedom of movement, and freedom of religion or belief (find the full report here).

Lebanese towns should put little statues of Christ on their solar panels, desalination plants, homes, schools, hospitals and maybe that’ll slow down the Israeli demolition of everything in their path https://t.co/bJgkV087ac

WHO: “17,000 Infections Among Gaza Displaced”: The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that more than 17,000 infections linked to rodents and external parasites have been recorded among displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year, as the collapse of living conditions and the destruction of the health system continue to accelerate the humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing Israeli assault.
Gaza’s Deir el-Balah residents vote in election, in spite of Israel’s interference: Deir el-Balah residents vote for first time since 2006 despite destruction, displacement and genocide. Essential electoral materials, usually transported from Ramallah, were prevented from entering Gaza. Even electoral ink was unavailable after being denied entry by Israeli authorities. While turnout appeared to be limited in the early morning, it picked up later in the day, the election coordinator said, attributing the slow start to people’s focus on meeting basic needs. “People are standing in lines for water and bread … but we expect turnout to increase.”

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Strategic Silence: Why Netanyahu* Revealed His Cancer Diagnosis Now: The timing of the announcement about the prime minister’s prostate cancer is no coincidence, and is likely tied to the delayed pardon in his corruption trial. Being a despicable liar, however, is an even graver problem that no medical treatment can heal.
*NOTE: The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu on Nov. 21, 2024, over war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza (several Hamas members were also charged, but Israel has since assassinated them).

Israeli forces raid Syria*’s Quneitra countryside: Israeli forces raided two areas in the Quneitra countryside in southern Syria on Saturday, setting up temporary checkpoints and searching civilians before withdrawing.
*NOTE: Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has carried out over 1,000 airstrikes and 400 cross-border raids on Syria since December 2024. Israel has demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria, allegedly to prevent any “potential threat” from post-war Syria – but has vowed to stay permanently in what seems to be an informal border expansion.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Israel Police Confiscate Hungarian Flag at anti-Netanyahu Protest, Citing Similarity to Palestinian Flag: At a weekly protest in northern Israel, the demonstrator said he clarified the flag was not Palestinian, but the officer said, ‘You may understand that, but others won’t.’ A week earlier, police arrested a protester carrying a sign calling for a two-state solution.

U.S. Reportedly to Allow Green Card Denial Based on pro-Palestine Views: Under new guidance issued by the Trump administration, immigrants can now be denied a green card for expressing political opinions, such as participating in pro-Palestinian campus protests, posting criticism of Israel on social media, and desecrating the American flag. The administration includes criticism of Israel as a potentially disqualifying factor, with the training materials citing as an example of questionable speech a social media post that declares, “Stop Israeli Terror in Palestine” and shows the Israeli flag crossed out.
Trump alum helps Israel mount AI influence campaign: Israel last September hired Republican digital strategist Brad Parscale, who served as Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, to oversee a pro-Israel social media campaign. At the time, pro-Israel figures were warning that the country was losing the social media war. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that waging an aggressive social media campaign is a priority for the country.
