BREAKING: Israel orders mass expulsion from all of Gaza City as it flattens residential towers

Israel has issued expulsion orders for nearly one million Palestinian residents of Gaza City ahead of a planned ground offensive to occupy the famine-stricken city.

On Tuesday, residents were ordered to move south to the al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis, a narrow coastal strip that represents just three percent of Gaza, and is already severely overcrowded with hundreds of thousands of displaced people.

The Israeli military described al-Mawasi as a “humanitarian zone”, despite repeatedly bombing the area, including as recently as Monday.

Israeli forces destroy another high-rise in Gaza City

Israel uses same justification as it continues to destroy Gaza City high-rises

The Israeli military has issued a statement claiming the latest high-rise building it has leveled in Gaza City was being used by Hamas operatives.

The post provided no evidence to support the claims, as was the case with all of the buildings it has destroyed over the last days and weeks.

Israeli forces destroy more than 50 buildings across Gaza

Palestinian Civil Defense spokesperson in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, says Israeli forces have destroyed more than 50 buildings across the Strip since Sunday morning, while another 100 buildings were partially damaged, including high-rises housing thousands of residents.

Basal said Israeli forces are deliberately targeting buildings surrounded by encampments of displaced people, and that more than 200 tents have been destroyed as a result of the bombing of adjacent buildings in the last 24 hours, in what he described as a “systematic” policy aimed at intensifying forced displacement.

He also said Israeli forces are targeting the remaining mosques and stadiums in Gaza City, and said Civil Defense crews received distress calls from citizens trapped under the rubble in the az-Zarqa area of the Tuffah neighborhood after a building was bombed.

Hamas: US proposal does not aim to end Gaza war

A senior official in the Hamas movement, Bassem Naim, said on Monday evening that the initial ideas presented by the United States are “clearly intended to be rejected, rather than to reach an agreement that ends the war, ensures a full withdrawal of the occupation forces, and secures a prisoner exchange.”

Naim explained that the American proposal suggests receiving all prisoners on the first day, linking withdrawal to the formation of a government acceptable to Israel and tasked with security duties. It also includes defining Hamas, considering pardons for its members, and disarming the resistance, “without any mention of reconstruction.”

Earlier on Monday, US President Donald Trump said that “the Israelis have accepted the terms of his proposal for a possible prisoner exchange and ceasefire in Gaza, and now it is Hamas’s turn to agree.”

Trump also spoke of the possibility of “reaching a deal soon to end the war on Gaza based on one of the proposals,” issuing what he described as “a final warning” to Hamas about the consequences of rejecting the new offer.

NOTABLE QUOTE: “We are failing the people of Gaza”

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk, speaking to the 60th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday:

Israel’s mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza; its infliction of indescribable suffering and wholesale destruction; its hindering of sufficient lifesaving aid and the ensuing starvation of civilians; its killing of journalists, UN staff and NGO workers; and its commission of war crime upon war crime, are shocking the conscience of the world.

I am horrified by the open use of genocidal rhetoric, and the disgraceful dehumanization of Palestinians by senior Israeli officials.

The region is crying out for peace. Gaza is a graveyard. Israel remains in deep trauma after the horrific attacks by Hamas and other armed groups on 7 October and the continued holding of hostages.

Further militarization, occupation, annexation and oppression will only feed more violence, retribution, and terror.

Israel has a legal obligation to take the steps ordered by the International Court of Justice, to prevent acts of genocide, punish incitement to genocide, and ensure enough aid reaches Palestinians in Gaza…Israel has a case to answer before the International Court of Justice, and the evidence continues to mount.

But we need action now, to end the carnage.

The international community is failing in its duty. We are failing the people of Gaza.

Where are the decisive steps to prevent genocide?

Why are countries not doing more to avert atrocity crimes?

Inaction is not an option.

Israeli military investigating* killing of two Palestinian children in Jenin camp: Report

The Israeli military has launched an investigation after two Palestinian children were killed during a raid in the Jenin refugee camp, in the occupied West Bank. The dead are both 14-year-olds: Islam Abdel Aziz Noah Mujarmah and Mohamed Siri Omar Maskala.

The army claimed that the victims had “approached the forces and posed a threat to them”, which prompted the troops to begin a “suspect arrest procedure” that included opening fire at them.

It added that further details were under investigation.

*NOTE: Israel’s self-investigations – on the rare occasions when they do take place – consistently whitewash its crimes and fail to appropriately punish the perpetrators.

Israel has a long track record of lying.

Israel Introduces Armed ‘Rolling’ Drone With Warhead for Stealth Indoor Strikes

Israeli drone maker Robotican has introduced an upgrade to its ROOSTER hybrid drone system, giving it precision-guided strike capabilities for indoor and urban operations.

Sumud flotilla confirms suspected drone attack on main ship

The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) has confirmed the so-called “Family Boat”, carrying GSF Steering Committee members, including Greta Thunberg, “was struck by what is suspected to be a drone”.

“The boat was under the Portuguese flag and all passengers and crew are safe,” the GSF said in a post on social media.

The GSF added that an investigation is under way, and that “acts of aggression” will not deter the flotilla’s mission of bringing aid to Gaza.

Tunisian National Guard spokesperson Houcem Eddine Jebabli told AFP and Mosaique FM that “no drone has been detected,” and claimed the fire may have originated from a cigarette or lighter igniting life jackets onboard.

NOTABLE QUOTE: flotilla “can change the course of history”

Italian lawmaker Arturo Scotto has announced that he will join the Global Sumud Flotilla, an international civil society mission aiming to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza and show solidarity with the Palestinian people. He is one of four Italian parliamentarians participating in the flotilla. His comment:

Over these months, organized civil society, activists, associations, and groups have done far more than European governments.

European governments have not taken any serious steps to pressure [Israeli] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. This failure has sparked deep frustration, anger, and unrest among European publics.

I believe the international community will pressure governments to open a humanitarian corridor. That is our goal. Moreover, attacking such a flotilla in international waters would be impossible — it would violate all UN conventions and human rights.

We asked (Italian) Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for two simple things: first, to act to ensure that these aid supplies reach their destination, since they were collected by Italian citizens whom her government represents; and second, to work so that activists are granted diplomatic immunity. This is an urgent matter.

These activists, who embark on this mission knowing the risks…send a powerful message in defense of Palestinian dignity.

[The flotilla] is a symbol of cooperation among peoples and a sign that can change the course of history. I hope we reach our goal.

PROTEST, BOYCOTT, & OTHER NEWS:

Britain has not concluded Israel’s actions in Gaza are genocide

Britain has not concluded that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza despite appalling civilian suffering, according to a government letter.

David Lammy, Britain’s foreign minister until Friday, wrote in a September 1 letter to a parliamentary committee that the government had carefully considered the risk of genocide.

“As per the Genocide Convention, the crime of genocide occurs only where there is specific ‘intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group’,” he said in the letter seen by Reuters, adding, “the government has not concluded that Israel is acting with that intent.”
