NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:
For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.
At least 5 Palestinians, including a one-year-old child, were reportedly killed and others injured in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, in the latest violation of the ceasefire agreement in force since Oct. 10, 2025.
Israeli forces intensify military operations across Gaza: Khan Younis, Rafah, and Gaza City witnessed intense Israeli military operations on Tuesday, including artillery shelling, the demolition of homes and civilian infrastructure, and the targeting of residential neighborhoods, resulting in the displacement of dozens of families. In Gaza City, Israeli forces detonated a booby-trapped robot loaded with a large quantity of explosives, targeting homes in the Tuffah neighborhood in the northeast of the city.
Israeli minister proposes Gaza relocation plan involving Mossad: Gila Gamliel, a member of Israel’s security cabinet, said she had prepared a “political initiative” titled “voluntary migration* from the Gaza Strip” and presented it to the government. “[The plan] is close to being implemented, and the Mossad [Israel’s foreign intelligence agency] has now joined the process to manage this effort in the best possible way,” she said.
*NOTE: There is nothing “voluntary” about this scheme. Forced population transfer is a crime against humanity, and a form of ethnic cleansing.
DEATH TOLL – GAZA GENOCIDE (tentative):
- At least 1,053 since ceasefire began Oct. 11, 2025 (247 children, 191 women)
- 5 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire began – one by friendly fire, and four others incidents during the first three weeks of the ceasefire.
- 73,066 killed (~22,000 children, 33,000 women and girls) since October 2023

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:
Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)
Palestine Foreign Ministry on Tuesday strongly condemned Israel’s illegal settlement* plan targeting about 100 locations inside the so-called Area A in the occupied West Bank, calling it “colonial thinking and a blatant violation of international law and signed agreements,” adding that the move would contribute to the destruction of the two-state solution. (Original story here.)
*NOTE: More than 700,000 settlers live illegally on Palestinian land in over 500 settlements and settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Some settler groups have a history of violence against Palestinians, often with the assistance of Israeli military forces. Learn more about Israeli settler violence here and here. It is noteworthy that settlers only rarely face prosecution for their violent acts.
In a landmark advisory opinion on July 19, 2024, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian land “illegal” and demanded the evacuation of all settlements.
Israel sealed off Hebron* with 106 iron gates, seeks full control of Ibrahimi Mosque in the southern West Bank city, Hebron Governor Khaled Dodin said on Tuesday. He described the move as part of “a plan aimed at imposing a new reality that would enable it to seize control of the site.” Israeli authorities have also blocked 16 roads and entrances to the governorate with earth mounds, and prevented the call to prayer at the mosque for the past 10 days.
*NOTE: Around 35,000 Palestinians live in the West Bank city of Hebron, where the Ibrahimi Mosque is located, along with about 800 illegal Jewish settlers, who are protected and supported by 1,500 Israeli soldiers. To read more about Israeli settler violence (backed by Israeli military) in the West Bank city of Hebron, go here, and see this video. Find more on the Ibrahimi Mosque here.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
ISRAELI MEDIA: IDF Hostage Chief Says Gaza Hostages Could Have ‘Returned Alive,’ but Netanyahu Gov’t Refused Truce Deals*: The former coordinator said that Netanyahu’s government rejected ‘comprehensive hostage deals’ in the name of ‘total victory,’ only to have the war against Hamas forcibly end without achieving its objectives, following pressure from the Trump administration. The war could have ended a year earlier, achieved more Hamas disarmament, and saved many soldiers’ and at least 40 hostages’ lives.
*NOTE: Netanyahu has repeatedly delayed ceasefire agreements – he has said as much; Israeli media report it as well. It is also worth noting that about 130 of the hostages were freed due to negotiations; dozens were killed in Israeli military operations.
Additionally, Israel unilaterally ended the January 2024 ceasefire (after violating it almost a thousand times and killing at least 170 Palestinians in Gaza). Israel also assassinated Gaza’s chief ceasefire negotiator, and attempted to assassinate the entire negotiating team.
At the start of the war, Hamas offered to release all hostages in exchange for Israel releasing all Palestinian prisoners. On 8 November 2023, Hamas sources told news agencies that Hamas could release 10–15 hostages in exchange for a three-day humanitarian pause in fighting. On 9 November, Benjamin Netanyahu had reportedly rejected such an exchange.
Former Israeli prime minister says Netanyahu ‘incapable of governing’ as far-right ministers ‘control’ him: Naftali Bennett says far-right ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich ‘control’ Netanyahu: “I would not entertain in my government any idiots that talk about– just really stupid statements that people like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich say.”

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.
Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.

Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff arrived in Doha, Qatar on Tuesday, after the White House claimed Iran requested a meeting. Iranian negotiators are scheduled to meet with Qatari diplomats in Doha this week, but say they have no plans to meet any American officials.
LEBANON
Expect US boots on the ground in Lebanon, Israel, says official: The U.S. military will have a direct role in monitoring actions by both the Lebanese Armed Forces and Israel Defense Forces, with U.S. troops on the ground in both countries, a U.S. official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to give sensitive context on the U.S. role.
Israel to postpone withdrawal* from 2 pilot areas in southern Lebanon: Only days after agreeing to a plan, in which Israeli forces would withdraw from areas of southern Lebanon and be replaced by Lebanese forces, Israel has already delayed its implementation.
*NOTE: Israel is often quick to make promises – but notoriously neglects to keep them. It has famously violated ceasefire agreements for decades, including currently in Gaza and Lebanon. It is a country whose leaders have perpetrated countless lies to cover for war crimes and aggression (and consistently pass along to Western mainstream media). Previously, Israel has been caught in many lies – for examples, see this and this. Many of Israel’s lies have been debunked even by traditionally pro-Israel mainstream media.
Israel always knew southern Lebanon Shia villages ‘had to disappear’, minister says: Israel’s defense minister claims “nearly 100% destruction” in sectors of southern Lebanon. Israeli forces have driven hundreds of thousands of Lebanese civilians from the south, most of them from the Shia population.

MORE NEWS & HEADLINES:
A generational shift is transforming the US-Israel relationship: Tensions were already palpable because of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Benjamin Netanyahu’s role in pushing Donald Trump to join a counterproductive war against Iran was the last straw.
Congress has blocked the amendment @RepThomasMassie and I introduced to stop the integration of our military with Israel’s. It is unconscionable to not even have a vote. We will be continuing on and will not be intimidated by the pro-Israel lobby. pic.twitter.com/6ai93L0rAY
