Gaza is "world's largest mass grave" – Not a Ceasefire Day 29

10,000+ Palestinians Buried Beneath Gaza Rubble in ‘World’s Largest Mass Grave’

A civil society group in Gaza on Thursday appealed for international assistance to help recover the bodies of more than 10,000 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces who remain buried beneath the rubble of the flattened strip.

Referring to Gaza as “the world’s largest mass grave,” Aladdin Al-Aklouk, a spokesperson for the National Committee for Missing Persons in the Genocide Against Gaza, said that “these martyrs were buried under the rubble of their homes, which have turned into mass graves, without their final dignity being preserved or their bodies being retrieved.”

“We express our shock and strong condemnation of the absence of an effective role by international organizations and humanitarian bodies, especially those concerned with the issue of missing persons, in light of the ongoing escalating humanitarian disaster,” Al-Aklouk continued (continue reading here).

A building collapsed Thursday in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood, leaving people trapped underneath. At least one of the victims has now died, according to the Gaza Civil Defense agency.

For now, Israel says that ceasefire progress is stalled, and that it will not move forward on any measures until the 6 remaining bodies are handed over. Until then there will be no progress on the delivery of aid or on withdrawing from areas in Gaza. Israel understands this will take time because the search is extremely complex and difficult due to the wide-scale destruction that Israel has caused.

Israeli Forces Kill Elderly Palestinian Woman In Her Home

At dawn Thursday, soldiers stormed the home of Haniya Hannoun, a 73-year-old Palestinian woman in the village of Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya, north of Ramallah. Hannoun reportedly died after soldiers assaulted her and her family and abducted her grandson Mohammad Abbas Hannoun. The soldiers stormed her home and ransacked its property during the violent searches while assaulting her and her family.

An Israeli airstrike has killed a Lebanese man and wounded 8 others in residential areas of southern Lebanon, according to the National News Agency (NNA). Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said of the incident, “What Israel committed today in southern Lebanon constitutes a full-fledged crime under international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the targeting, terrorizing, and forced displacement of civilians.” Israel has killed over 111 civilians in Lebanon since a ceasefire was declared almost a year ago.

A growing number of Hollywood actors and filmmakers who have voiced solidarity with Palestinians are reportedly being blacklisted by Paramount, following its takeover by pro-Israel billionaire David Ellison, according to Variety. The move has raised fears of a systematic campaign to suppress dissenting voices in the entertainment industry under the guise of combating anti-Semitism.

At least 68,875 killed in Gaza (~22,000 children, 23,000 women)
At least 1,066 killed in the West Bank (~213 children)

More than 10,000 injured in the West Bank
At least 463 have died from malnutrition in Gaza, including 157 children
About 513 bodies have been recovered since the ceasefire began

*NOTE: Thousands of those killed in Gaza have yet to be identified, and an estimated 10,000 more are still buried under rubble. Additionally, the numbers of injured and starved are very conservative estimates. Only the dead who are brought to hospitals are included in the official fatality count.
