Father Talat Awad, pastor of the Church of the Dormition in the West Bank, told The New Arab that Israel’s occupation spares nothing—“humans, stones, trees, or animals.” He added that Christians and church properties in Jerusalem now face the same destruction and violence long inflicted on Gaza’s churches.
Just because you don’t see Israel/Palestine in the headlines, doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Every day, Israel finds new & more cruel ways to treat Palestinians (& their allies), and Palestinians continue to resist their oppressors.
There is an ongoing elimination of Christianity in the region where it was born being carried out by Israel and its friends. The United States has been the enabler of much of the change in spite of the prevalence of self-described devout Christians in Congress, many of whom ironically are vocal and even enthusiastic supporters of Israeli “security” policies.
