Trump and Netanyahu could be using the same scare tactics to justify any attacks on Iran they may be planning — and the Times may have fallen into their trap. The Times published a misleading report on its front page that further raises the risk that Trump and Netanyahu could provoke a conflict with Iran during the Trump administration’s final 66 days…

A sensationalist, award-winning ‘NY Times’ podcast on Islamic Jihadism was based on a fraud
An award-winning breathless New York Times podcast about Islamic Jihadism that was downloaded millions of times in 2018 turns out to have been based on a fraudulent liar — but so far the paper and its reporter, Rukmini Callimachi, have declined to fully acknowledge their error. Callimachi has connections to Israel lobby organizations…
Israeli envoy calls Thomas Friedman & Dennis Ross spokesmen for Israel
A former Israeli ambassador has confirmed that New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman and former White House Middle East negotiator Dennis Ross are propagandists for Israel…
As US Consigns Iranians to Death, Media Look the Other Way
The best way to remedy the inordinate harm the Iran sanctions do, would be to lift the sanctions, but few in the corporate media are making this rather obvious point.(Israel and its partisans have long targeted Iran.)
From Resistance to Assistance: Little Pushback to Trump’s Iran Assassination
Corporate media like to present themselves as holding the current administration to account, in reality they offer little meaningful resistance to its foreign policy adventures.
FAIR: The NYT’s Pro-War Arguments Against War With Iran
New York Times recent editorials make it sound as if the war looming between the US and Iran is equally the fault of both countries, or of some inexplicable, inevitable force, rather than the result of US actions. This framing hides US governmental responsibility, and makes it harder for the public to judge intelligently where to place blame.
For NYT, Israel Is Always Nearing ‘Apartheid,’ but Never Quite Gets There
The New York Times – most notably columnist Thomas Friedman – acknowledges that current policies and practices in Israel/Palestine are now and have been for decades a form of apartheid, yet for some unspecified reason, the paper has stated for twenty years merely that the region is “at risk of” becoming an apartheid state. In spite of profuse evidence from experts around the world and from Israel’s own legislation, NYT refuses to state the obvious.
News media get it wrong on the Golan Heights
Standard Operating Procedure: top news outlets reporting on the Golan Heights issue have failed in their journalistic duties: euphemisms, partial truths, and omissions abound.
Media ignore, disparage, or misrepresent Palestinian Right of Return
A FAIR study finds that major US news outlets rarely mention the Right of Return, although it is a primary part of the Israel/Palestine issue. In the last ten years, only 0.01 percent of coverage of Palestinians or Palestine in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post informs its audience about the right of return or even mentions it at all. When they do mention it, they generally imply that it is not a legitimate, UN-conferred right; or they describe the exercise of that right as an act of aggression/national “suicide” for Israel.
Flashback: Alison Weir’s exposé on NY Times report in which injured Israeli goats were more important than injured Palestinian infant
In 2012 FAIR highlighted Alison Weir’s exposé on a distorted New York Times’ report on Palestine. The NYT had reversed the chronology of an attack, & had reported that “several goats were killed in a petting zoo in an Israeli communal farm” but failed to tell that Israeli forces had injured a one month old Palestinian infant, a two year old, a three year old, and a 10 year old.
