STARVED BABY IN GAZA WEIGHED LESS AT DEATH THAN BIRTH: The five-month-old girl who died of malnutrition in Gaza today, Zainab Abu Haleeb, weighed just two kilograms (4.4 pounds) at the time of her death – smaller than her birth weight of more than three kilos (6.6 pounds), and less than a third the average weight of an infant her age.
ISRAEL CONFISCATES INFANT FORMULA AT THE BORDER: Nick Maynard, a British surgeon who has worked in Gaza, is just one of many to report that doctors volunteering in Gaza recently have brought infant formula with them in their suitcases – only to have it confiscated by Israel border guards. “But why?” he mused. “One can only speculate.”
GAZA CIVIL DEFENSE SET TO BE OUT OF SERVICE: Gaza’s civil defense has informed the UN and international humanitarian organizations that its crews will be unable to reach locations of Israeli bombings or other incidents by the end of the month unless sufficient fuel is provided and they get spare parts to repair their damaged vehicles.

SENIOR HAMAS FIGURE REJECTS TRUMP’S ACCOUNT OF CEASEFIRE TALKS: Senior Hamas political official Izzat al-Risheq has disputed US President Donald Trump’s assessment of the Gaza ceasefire talks after the US leader claimed Palestinian negotiators “didn’t really want to make a deal.” Al-Risheq said the negotiations were “actually witnessing progress,” and Trump and Witkoff were overlooking “the real impediment to all agreements, which is the Netanyahu government.” He called on the US to stop “exonerating the occupation and providing it with political and military cover to continue the war of extermination and starvation”.

NYT Reveals Another Israeli Lie*: No Proof Hamas Routinely Stole U.N. Aid, Israeli Military Officials Say
For nearly two years, Israel has accused Hamas of stealing aid provided by the United Nations and other international organizations. The government has used that claim as its main rationale for restricting food from entering Gaza.
But the Israeli military never found proof that the Palestinian militant group had systematically stolen aid from the United Nations, the biggest supplier of emergency assistance to Gaza for most of the war, according to two senior Israeli military officials and two other Israelis involved in the matter.
In fact, the Israeli military officials said, the U.N. aid delivery system, which Israel derided and undermined, was largely effective in providing food to Gaza’s desperate and hungry population (continue reading here).
*NOTE: Among Israel’s lies are numerous atrocity stories about the October 7th attack that have since been proven untrue (more examples here). In addition, a number of the Israeli soldiers and civilians killed on October 7 were shown to have been killed by Israeli fire – a fact that is absent from the official Israeli narrative. Another Israeli lie resulted in a devastating withdrawal of humanitarian aid funding for Gaza. Previously, Israel has been caught in many lies – for example, this and this and this.

‘Without a Doubt’: Former US Officer Tells BBC He Witnessed War Crimes in Gaza
Lieutenant-Colonel Anthony Aguilar, a veteran of the Green Berets, said in an interview with the BBC on Friday that he resigned from his position at the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) after witnessing the shelling of unarmed civilians waiting for aid.
“I’ve never seen such brutality and use of indiscriminate and unnecessary force against a civilian population—an unarmed, starving population,” Aguilar told the BBC.
Aguilar described scenes in which Israeli soldiers and US security personnel fired live rounds, mortar shells, and tank rounds into crowds of Palestinians gathered for food distribution, and mortar rounds were launched into crowds “to keep them controlled.”
The former officer said he had no doubt about what he saw. “Without question, I witnessed war crimes by the Israeli Defense Forces, without a doubt,” he said.
Aguilar also criticized the leadership of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, calling the operation “amateur, inexperienced, and untrained,” and said those overseeing it had “no idea of how to conduct operations at this magnitude.”
