On Wednesday morning, undercover Israeli soldiers infiltrated the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp southwest of Jericho in the occupied West Bank’s northeastern part, killed one Palestinian, and abducted two others.

Media sources said the undercover soldiers infiltrated the refugee camp before Israeli army jeeps invaded it to abduct Palestinians.

They added that many Palestinians protested the invasion before the soldiers fired a barrage of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said the soldiers killed Dirgham Mohammad Yahia Al-Akhras, 19, after shooting him with a live round in the head.

PRCS medics rushed Dirgham to Jericho governmental hospital where he was officially pronounced dead to the gunshot wound to the head.

The army pushed more military vehicles into the refugee camp before the soldiers initiated massive and violent searches of homes, causing damage, and interrogated scores of Palestinians.

In addition, the soldiers attacked the minaret of the Grand Mosque in Jenin refugee camp with many rounds of live ammunition.

Palestinian resistance fighters exchanged fire with the invading soldiers in Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp.

The Palestinians continued their processions on their land near the perimeter fence along the perimeter fence in the northeastern central eastern and southeastern parts of the coastal region, protesting the escalating Israeli violations, especially the constant attacks against the detainees, in addition to the assaults and invasions by Israeli soldiers and colonialist settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and the holy site’s surrounding areas.

NOTE: The entire West Bank has been under Israeli occupation since 1967; all its official entrances and exits are controlled by Israeli soldiers, making its Palestinian inhabitants virtual prisoners. Many are families that were ethnically cleansed from Israel during Israel’s founding war (see this and this and this) and its 1967 war. Israeli forces often invade them; one example is here.

Israel was established in 1947 through a war of ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population, both Muslims and Christians, and it continues to steal other people’s land for illegal colonies known as ‘settlements.’ While Palestinians most often use nonviolent resistance, a small number use armed resistance against the invaders.

Thanks to the pro-Israel lobby in the US, Congress disburses over $20 million per day of Americans’ tax money directly to and/or on behalf of Israel.
