(While a “ceasefire” is ostensibly in place, Israel has continued its assault on Gaza without interruption. If Americans Knew considers the war to be ongoing, and in its 781st day.)
Since the “ceasefire” began on October 11, Israel has killed at least 352 Palestinians. Among them are at least 67 children. Death toll figures are tentative.
Israel has so far violated the 11 October ceasefire deal in Gaza at least 497 times.

Israel still committing genocide in Gaza, Amnesty International says
The fragile, US-brokered truce between Israel and Hamas came into effect on 10 October, after two years of war, but according to Amnesty’s secretary general, Agnès Callamard, “The ceasefire risks creating a dangerous illusion that life in Gaza is returning to normal.”
“But while Israeli authorities and forces have reduced the scale of their attacks and allowed limited amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza, the world must not be fooled. Israel’s genocide is not over,” she added.
“There has been no meaningful change in the conditions Israel is inflicting on Palestinians in Gaza and no evidence to indicate that Israel’s intent has changed” (continue reading here).

Arab and Palestinian sources said on 27 November that “no progress is visible” in implementing phase two of the Gaza ceasefire, while warning that Hamas will not disarm unless Washington presses Tel Aviv to withdraw its forces from the strip. Neither Israel nor Hamas is willing to take the steps required for the second stage – a significant Israeli withdrawal from the enclave on one hand, and the handover of Hamas’ weapons on the other.

OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM NEWS & HEADLINES:
(Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)
Israeli Forces Filmed Carrying Out Extrajudicial Execution of Two Palestinians in Jenin
Israeli forces shot and kiilled at close range Yousef Asa’sa (39) and al-Muntasir-Billah Abdullah (26) after they emerged from a building with their hands raised, fully complying with soldiers’ orders – according to a video of the incident released by Israeli human rights org B’Tselem.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that Israeli forces desecrated the young mens’ bodies with a bulldozer, before confiscating them.
The IDF said that “the incident is under review* by the commanders on the ground, and will be transferred to the relevant professional bodies.”
*NOTE: Israel’s self-investigations – on the rare occasions when they do take place – consistently whitewash its crimes and fail to appropriately punish the perpetrators and tend to focus on individuals and individual incidents, ignoring the dangerous, far-reaching policies and assumptions rampant in Israeli thinking: impunity, lethality, and dehumanization.
Human rights groups have documented Israel’s lack of integrity when reporting on its own behavior toward Palestinians. Israeli sources, including the government itself, have a long track record of lying.
Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said he “fully supports” the execution of two Palestinian suspects in the occupied West Bank’s Jenin on Thursday: “I fully support the Border Guard members and Israeli army soldiers who shot at wanted terrorists who emerged from a building in Jenin. The forces acted exactly as expected of them — terrorists* must die!” Ben Gvir wrote on X.
*NOTE: The use of the word “terrorist” for a group that resists occupation and oppression is a political, not fact-based choice. In reality, international law supports the efforts of resistance groups against an occupying power, the UN extending that right to the point of armed resistance.
The Israeli army attacked the West Bank cities of Tubas and Jenin Thursday, using helicopters and large numbers of infantry units and special forces. Israeli forces shot two children. Israeli forces have arrested 119 Palestinians since the start of the offensive in Tubas since Wednesday, with over 50 people released later. Israeli forces issued demolition orders for 23 buildings in Jenin.

(Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel accurately. IAK passes along only factual reporting.)
After 75 years: Could Israel actually lose its UN membership this time?
On 24 November 2025, civil-society actors in Chile launched a campaign calling for the expulsion of Israel from United Nations, invoking UN Charter Article 6. They base their call on what they describe as “continuous and systematic violations” of international humanitarian law and repeated breaches of UN resolutions, particularly in light of ongoing Genocide in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there.
Article 6 of the UN charter states: “A Member of the United Nations which has persistently violated the principles contained in the present Charter may be expelled from the Organization by the General Assembly upon the recommendation of the Security Council” (continue reading here).

Israeli army forces launched another raid in southern Syria on Thursday, in the latest violation of the country’s sovereignty. The Israeli army has carried out over 1,000 airstrikes and 400 cross-border raids on Syria since December 2024.

IDF has killed 370 of Hezbollah* in 1,200 operations, one year from Lebanon ceasefire
The IDF has killed over 370 Hezbollah fighters since the November 27, 2024, ceasefire with Lebanon, the IDF reported Thursday, and has been reduced to about 20% of its prewar capacity.
It has carried out these targeted killings as part of about 1,200 diverse operations and attacks designed to prevent Hezbollah from redeploying its forces to southern Lebanon and from restoring its prewar arsenal of more than 150,000 rockets, the IDF said.
*NOTE: Israel has attacked Lebanon almost every day since the ceasefire was reached on 27 November 2024. It claims it has been legitimately ‘enforcing’ the agreement, despite the ceasefire clearly prohibiting Israeli airstrikes, committing over 10,000 air and ground violations since the deal was reached, and killing over 300 – reportedly about 127 of them civilians.
It is a stretch to call this a ceasefire.

WJC chief on antisemitism*: ‘We’re up against a trillion dollars of propaganda**’
Sylvan Adams, president of the World Jewish Congress Israel and Middle East region and one of Israel’s most prominent philanthropists, believes that anti-Israel sentiment in the West is fueled by huge sums of money and coordinated efforts to smear Israel’s name.
“Somebody was buying those tents [students used in campus protest against genocide]. Somebody had organized this… They have operatives everywhere.
“Tucker Carlson, when he was fired from Fox, he wasn’t always this virulently anti-Israel and antisemitic… He needed a job. To me, I look at Tucker Carlson as a paid operative…”this very, very vocal and noisy, organized and paid-for minority is doing us real harm.”
“We are up against a trillion dollars of propaganda and conspiracy against us worldwide,” Adams said, which includes “infiltrating western university campuses, paying opinion leaders like Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, as well as on the left.”
Adams expressed confidence that Israel can succeed if it makes hasbara a priority: “We’re the startup nation. When we have priorities, we win at everything that we do.”
*NOTE: Thanks to a yearslong program of indoctrination by pro-Israel organizations, the word “antisemitism” has taken on a new, distorted meaning that can include nearly all criticism of Israel – in other words, disapproval of the self-proclaimed “Jewish State” may be incorrectly labeled antisemitic.
**Sylvan Adams joins countless other Israel supporters in ignoring Israel’s embrace of the abhorrent policies of apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and a live-streamed genocide. People do not need to be “paid operatives” to speak out against human rights abuses; pro-Israel billionaires and leaders who believe controlling the narrative and affixing the “antisemite” label to advocates of Palestinian rights, are misdirecting their effort. When Israel ends the genocide, dismantles its apartheid, and adopts equal rights for all – when it ends its 77-year war against Palestinian existence – then it might expect to enjoy support again.

Palestinian-American teenager held in Israeli prison freed after nine months
Mohammed Ibrahim, a 16-year-old Palestinian-American teenager from Florida whose case was first exposed by the Guardian in July, was released following a guilty plea and suspended sentence, according to his family. He was charged with two counts of throwing objects at moving vehicles.*
Relatives said he was taken to a hospital for intravenous therapy and blood work immediately after his release, and noted he is severely underweight, pale and is still suffering from scabies contracted during his detention. Ibrahim had lost a quarter of his body weight in detention, his family said.
Ibrahim was arrested in a raid on his family’s West Bank home in February when he was still 15 years old, with Israeli forces allegedly blindfolding and handcuffing him in the middle of the night. He was charged with two counts of throwing objects at moving vehicles (continue reading here).
*NOTE: Each year, hundreds of Palestinians (many of them minors) are imprisoned for throwing stones, which can carry a sentence of up to 20 years (for Palestinians, not Israeli Jews).
