At the end of February, 37 aid organizations in the Gaza Strip – including nearly all established non-UN aid groups there – face a ban for refusing to comply with Israel’s dubious new registration law.
In light of the recent incarceration of Ali Abunimah in Zurich, it’s useful to examine the Israel lobby in Switzerland. As former HRW official Sarah Leah Whitson noted: “Switzerland has shamelessly kowtowed to the pro-Israel lobby by deporting an American citizen because he advocates for Palestinian rights.”
A bill before Congress seeks merely to stop US aid dollars from subsidizing the incarceration and torture of Palestinian children. Pro-Israel organizations would rather believe outrageous fallacies than stand up for these kids’ rights.
