(While a “ceasefire” is ostensibly in place, Israel has continued its assault on Gaza without interruption. If Americans Knew considers the war to be ongoing, and in its 822nd day.)

Israeli forces killed at least four Palestinians on Sunday in Gaza, in fresh violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October, said medical sources.

Since the “ceasefire” began on October 11, Israel has killed at least 442 Palestinians. At least 1,240 have been injured. Death toll figures are tentative.

Israel has so far violated the 11 October ceasefire deal in Gaza at least 969 times (as of Dec. 28, 2025). More statistics below.

Two-Month-Old Baby Dies from Cold in Gaza as Israel’s Aid Blockade Tightens

A two-month-old infant has died in Gaza City from exposure to extreme cold, Al Mayadeen reported on Sunday, as the Israeli occupation continues to tighten its blockade on the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of essential humanitarian supplies, including food, heating materials, and weather protection.

According to Palestinian sources, the infant was identified as Muhammad Wissam Abu Harbid. His death occurred just hours after another infant, Mahmoud al-Aqra, also died from exposure to extreme cold in Gaza, underscoring the growing toll of winter conditions on the Strip’s most vulnerable residents.

The deaths come as severe winter storms sweep across the region, further deteriorating conditions for displaced families already facing acute shortages of food, medical care, and adequate shelter.

At least 21 displaced Palestinians, 18 of them children, have died from extreme cold in Gaza’s displacement camps since the start of Israel’s war on the enclave, local authorities said Sunday.

In a statement, Gaza’s government media office said the deaths occurred among families living in makeshift shelters that offer little protection from harsh winter conditions, warning of a deepening humanitarian catastrophe as cold waves continue to hit the territory.

*NOTE: As a de facto occupier of Gaza, Israel is obligated under the law of armed conflict to ensure that the occupied civilian population is provided with supplies essential to the survival to the fullest extent that it can, including basic food and medical supplies as well as clothing, bedding and means of shelter. In cold climates, fuel for heating may take priority.

Humanitarian agencies have repeatedly stated that they have large quantities of sheltering materials, food, and medical supplies waiting just outside the border, but Israel does not allow them into the Strip.

As Israel plans to remove the rubble of Rafah, international intervention, specialized teams urgently needed to recover victims’ bodies

Over recent days, Euro-Med Monitor’s team has documented the evacuation by the Israeli occupation army, alongside contractors operating under its authority, of the entire area under full Israeli control in Rafah, and the commencement of rubble removal and land leveling. The army confirmed in recent hours that no less than 70 per cent of rubble removal operations in the city have been completed.

Bulldozing and land leveling operations in Rafah are being carried out despite confirmed indications that hundreds of bodies remain beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings and in streets and agricultural fields, posing a serious risk of damaging human remains and erasing their locations before recovery and identification can take place (continue reading here).

Israeli Soldiers Kill* A Palestinian Man In Hebron

A Palestinian man, Shaker Falah Ahmad al‑Ja’bari, 58, died on Sunday morning from serious wounds sustained after Israeli occupation forces shot him the previous night in the city of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed.

Local sources reported that Israeli soldiers opened fire at al‑Jaabari’s vehicle without warning, injuring him before surrounding the area and preventing Palestinian ambulances and residents from reaching him. His body remains withheld by Israeli soldiers.

Human rights organizations have documented a growing pattern of Israeli forces firing at Palestinian vehicles in the occupied West Bank, followed by the abduction of the wounded and the obstruction of medical teams.

The withholding of bodies has also increased, with hundreds of Palestinian bodies currently held by Israeli authorities, preventing independent autopsies and legal review.

*NOTE: Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,103 Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem (~229 children) since October 2023.

Palestinian detainee from Gaza dies in Israeli custody, death toll rises to 87: Rights groups

Palestinian rights institutions said Sunday that detainee Hamza Abdullah Abdulhadi Adwan, 67, from Gaza died in Israeli detention on Sept. 9, 2025, raising the Palestinian detainee death toll since October 2023 to at least 87.

The Prisoners’ Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner Society said that Adwan was married and a father of nine children, two of whom were killed before the start of the war. His death comes amid what they described as systematic abuses against Palestinian detainees, including torture, starvation, medical neglect, sexual assault, humiliation and detention under degrading conditions.

Israel is ‘restoring governance’ to the Negev — by terrorizing Palestinians

It took Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and his police forces less than two weeks to turn a quiet Bedouin village in southern Israel into a bloody battleground.

Tarabin Al-Sana is home to around 1,000 people. Unlike dozens of other Bedouin villages in the Negev (Naqab), it is officially recognized by the state. In the most recent national elections in 2022, over half of the village’s eligible voters did not cast a ballot, but among those who did almost 60 percent voted for the Likud Party of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Yet that has not prevented the government from treating them, like all Palestinians, as enemies of the state (continue reading here).

The Latest, Racist and Lethal Publicity Stunt by Israel’s Far-right Minister of National Security

The selective conduct of Israel’s police – acting violently against the Bedouin population while turning a blind eye to Jewish terrorism in the West Bank – is no accident. It comes from the top, from the Kahanist minister in charge of the police, Itamar Ben-Gvir.
