Israel kills 10 Palestinians in Gaza bombing
Israeli forces killed at least 10 Palestinians in air strikes across the Gaza Strip late on Saturday and into Sunday, according to the health ministry. Emergency teams struggled to access the targeted areas because of the intensity of the Israeli bombardment.
The Israeli military said in a statement that the “precise” strikes were conducted in line with international law and were in response to what it described as a “ceasefire violation” by Hamas fighters.

Israel-affiliated* gang works at Rafah crossing
On Feb. 5, the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory said returnees reported after crossing, that they were taken by armed Palestinians, backed by the Israeli army, identified as members of the Abu Shabab militia, to an Israeli military checkpoint. There, some were handcuffed, blindfolded, searched, threatened and had personal belongings confiscated.
The same day, Israel’s public broadcaster KAN reported that Israeli authorities had allowed members of the Abu Shabab militia to take part in searches of Palestinians entering and leaving Rafah (read about the Abu Shabab gang/militia here and here).
*EDITOR’S NOTE: Earlier, IAK excerpted an article expressing that the militias working on Israel’s behalf in Gaza were linked to ISIS. We did not find strong evidence to support this claim, and have taken the excerpt down. The claim appears to originate with former Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman; however, this article casts doubt on the claim.

US firm from GHF Gaza aid program in talks for new role
JERUSALEM, Feb 11 (Reuters) – A U.S. security firm that deployed armed veterans to guard Gaza aid sites is in talks with the Trump administration’s Board of Peace about its next role in the enclave, after previously facing U.N. criticism over deadly scenes at its distribution points.
The North Carolina-based firm had faced criticism from the United Nations over the deaths of Palestinians trying to reach the firm’s aid sites in areas where Israel’s military was deployed and would open fire, killing hundreds. The Israeli military says its soldiers fired to address threats and quell crowds.
A UG Solutions spokesperson said it had “provided information and proposals to the U.S.-led Board of Peace” (continue reading here).

For Gaza’s Students, International Scholarships Offer Both Hope and Heartbreak
Since September 30, 2025, the Italian government has undertaken a major operation to offer a future for Gaza’s students. While evacuation to Italy was previously available to Palestinians only for medical treatment and family reunification, the Italian government has now taken the unprecedented step of opening the nation’s universities under the Italian Universities for Palestinian Students project, allowing 180 Gazan students to pursue their studies abroad away from the war.

OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM NEWS & HEADLINES:
(Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)
Two Palestinian Jerusalem families forced to demolish their homes* amid West bank attacks
*NOTE: Most home demolitions undertaken by Israel are due to Palestinians’ “building without a permit.” Israel admits that its construction permit system is highly discriminatory. Between 2016 and 2020, 99.1 percent of Palestinian requests for building permits were rejected, according to data provided by the IDF’s Civil Administration.
According to UN data, at least 13,800 homes have been demolished, displacing over 22,000 Palestinians, since 2009.

Israel to deploy tear gas drones*, extra troops in West Bank ahead of Ramadan
Israel’s National Guard is preparing to deploy 22 drone-mounted system drones equipped to fire tear gas at Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, during “expected events during Ramadan,”, Israeli Channel 12 reported Saturday.
Israel’s National Guard was formed under National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, a far-right minister.
The Israeli army plans a stronger presence in the West Bank during Ramadan by deploying extra units, including a commando brigade.
*NOTE: It was precisely this type of aggressive policing of Palestinians in Jerusalem that was a factor in Hamas launching rockets at Israel in May 2021.

ISRAEL NEWS & HEADLINES:
(Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel accurately. IAK passes along only factual reporting.)

WATCH Ben Gvir: “I want one more thing: to execute them”
Just days before the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir filmed a tour of Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank, Israel’s Channel 7 reported. In the footage, around 20 police officers are seen storming a hallway leading to prison cells, brandishing their weapons, firing stun grenades, and roughing up several Palestinian prisoners.
“It is simply a source of pride – arriving at a prison like this, a prison for terrorists, the vilest of the vile, seeing them like this,” Ben Gvir said in the video. “I want one more thing: to execute them – the death penalty for terrorists,” he added.
The operation took place as a bill proposing the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners convicted of terrorism awaited a final vote in the Israeli parliament.

OTHER NEWS & HEADLINES:

Did Francesca Albanese say that Israel is the “common enemy” of humanity?
No. But European foreign ministers thought that’s what she said. They called it hate speech targeting “Israel as a people and as a nation,” and began calling for her resignation. French foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot, who reportedly initiated the disinformation, stated that France will reportedly call for Albanese’s immediate resignation at the opening of the UN Human Rights Council session on February 23.
What did she say? In the full, uncut video, Albanese states that humanity has a common enemy, the “system which has enabled the genocide in Palestine.” In the edited video, Albanese says, “Instead of stopping Israel, most of the world has armed, given it political excuses, political sheltering, economic and financial support,” before the video cuts to conclude: “We now see that we as a humanity have a common enemy.”
Now what? Amnesty International secretary general Agnès Callamard has called on European lawmakers to withdraw their call for Albanese’s resignation. She claimed that the ministers had spread disinformation, and that they must go beyond just deleting their inflammatory social media posts but must also publicly apologize to Albanese. Callamard further called on states to show their commitment to international law by holding Israel accountable.
The comments by Barrot have garnered harsh reactions abroad and domestically. The Association of Jurists for the Respect of International Law (JURDI), a group of French international lawyers, has filed a report to the French public prosecutor over the dissemination of false information. In their press release, JURDI stated that Minister Barrot’s portrayal of Albanese’s statements as hate speech targeting “Israel as a people and as a nation” is a “clear misrepresentation of [the statement’s] content.”

Francesca Albanese rejects calls to resign from UN amid EU smear campaign
The UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, has refused calls to resign, stating she will not take “lessons from countries that violate international law and fail to condemn genocide.” She added, “I’m being punished because of my human rights work,” and, “The campaign of attack against me is nothing compared to the genocide suffered by the Palestinians.”
