Israeli forces kill 3-year-old Gazan girl – Not a Ceasefire Day 59

Compilation of news reports – IAK staff

(While a “ceasefire” is ostensibly in place, Israel has continued its assault on Gaza without interruption. If Americans Knew considers the war to be ongoing, and in its 790th day.)

The Gaza health ministry announced that the bodies of five martyrs have also been transferred to the hospital in the past 24 hours. Eleven people have also been injured during this period.

Among the dead Sunday was a 3-year-old girl.

Since the “ceasefire” began on October 11, Israel has killed at least 376 Palestinians. Among the dead are at least 136 children. At least 970 have been injured. Death toll figures are tentative.

Israel has so far violated the 11 October ceasefire deal in Gaza at least 591 times.

Over half of Gaza’s medical stocks are at zero amid healthcare crisis caused by Israeli offensive

The Ministry of Health in war-battered Gaza warned on Sunday that 52 percent of essential medicines are completely out of stock, amid the enclave’s healthcare crisis, which is risking patients’ lives.

The statement was made to address the repercussions of Israel’s violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, which have exacerbated the already-dire healthcare situation.

The ministry added that 71 percent of the full medical supplies list and 70 percent of laboratory supplies are also unavailable to treat Gaza’s population.

Israel army chief says withdrawal line in Gaza is ‘new border’

Israel’s army chief, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir declared Sunday: “We have operational control over extensive parts of the Gaza Strip and we will remain on those defence lines. The yellow line is a new border line – serving as a forward defensive line for our communities and a line of operational activity.”

Palestinians walk in the neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah and Al-Shujaiya, where a yellow marker suddenly appeared, indicating Israel's takeover of more of Gaza.

US ‘pressuring Israel’ to move onto phase two of Gaza ceasefire, as Egypt says enclave ‘should govern itself’

The US is reportedly ramping up the pressure on Israel to move onto the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire; however, Israel insists that it must receive the last captive body as a condition for such, Israeli media reported on Sunday.

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump’s administration said it is working on a plan that is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks and which could proceed with or without finding the captive’s body.

This comes as Israel claims that Hamas and other Palestinian groups aren’t making sufficient efforts to locate Ran Gvili’s remains, and progress to the ceasefire’s next stage would make the groups “unwilling” to search for it even more (continue reading here).

The centuries-old Christian presence in the West Bank is under threat

Rev Dr Fares Abraham writes: I grew up less than a mile from Shepherds’ Field in Beit Sahour in the occupied West Bank – the hillside where, according to the Gospel of Luke, the news of Jesus’s birth was first proclaimed.

For my family, these were not distant biblical landscapes. They were the backdrop of our daily lives: The olive groves we played in, the terraces we tended, the land where our faith and identity were rooted.

Today, for the first time in my life, I felt fear that the community that raised me may not survive (continue reading here).

Israel demands UNRWA cease aid to West Bank camps before displaced Palestinians return: Report

Israel is demanding that UNRWA no longer provide services to West Bank refugee camps as its major condition for the return of residents to their homes, Israel’s Channel 15 reported on 7 December.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) is reportedly negotiating with Israel to secure the return of tens of thousands of refugees displaced from their homes in camps in the north of the occupied West Bank, due to Israeli military operations that began early this year.

Israel has set five conditions for the return of the refugees to the camps: the “most important” is that the PA replace UNRWA and international relief organizations as service providers to the camps.

Israel believes that removing UNRWA from the camps will help eliminate Palestinian hopes of realizing the right of return (continue reading here).

(Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. Group sounds alarm over deteriorating condition of two Palestinian prisoners

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has warned that the health of Faisal Sabana, 65, from Qabatiya, south of Jenin, and Ali Abu Atiya, 29, from Ramallah, is rapidly deteriorating amid medical neglect in Israeli prisons.

Sabana has been held without charges or trial since October 25, 2023, and had a heart attack on November 1, 2025. He reportedly experienced symptoms days before the attack but was denied medical attention.

Abu Atiya was apprehended on November 4 near his workplace in Ramallah and shot at close range in his left thigh. He  underwent two surgeries, and now needs assistance to walk.

Israeli spying on US staff at Gaza CMCC sparks major diplomatic alarm

Israeli operatives have been conducting extensive surveillance on US personnel and foreign delegates stationed at a newly established American base in southern occupied Palestine, sources briefed on internal disputes over both open and covert recordings of sensitive conversations revealed.

The scope of the intelligence gathering inside the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) became a point of serious tension in recent weeks, prompting the base’s commander, Lt Gen Patrick Frank, to summon an Israeli counterpart and warn that “recording has to stop here,” the sources said.

Staff members and visiting officials from other countries have also voiced alarm about Israeli monitoring inside the facility. Several were advised not to share sensitive information in the building due to fears it could be collected and misused (continue reading here).

ICC shuns US demands to drop Israel war crimes probe and amend treaty

The oversight body of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has shunned US demands for the court to drop its investigation into Israeli war crimes and to amend its founding treaty to prevent the prosecution of nationals from countries that do not recognize the court’s jurisdiction, Middle East Eye can reveal.

In a statement issued on Wednesday after its annual meeting in The Hague earlier this week, the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) vowed to uphold the integrity of the Rome Statute and said it was “gravely concerned” by threats and coercive measures targeting the court.

The meeting took place in the shadow of US sanctions already imposed against a number of ICC senior officials, including judges and the chief prosecutor, Karim Khan (continue reading here).
