NOTE: The Gaza Health Ministry’s daily casualty figures are based on the number of dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals, and does not include victims that are under the rubble or elsewhere, where ambulance and civil defense crews can not reach them.

At least 40 Palestinians were killed and scores wounded Saturday in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, according to the Health Ministry. Among the dead were ten people in one house in Gaza City, eleven in one house in Khan Younis, and 3 babies.

Medical supplies will only last 1 more week: Kuwait Hospital in Rafah

Kuwait Specialized Hospital in Rafah in southern Gaza warned on Saturday that it may be forced to cease operations, announcing that its medical supplies are expected to last just one more week.

“Due to the ongoing Israeli aggression and the closure of crossings, the health system is on the verge of collapse,” the hospital stated.

It revealed that more than 75% of essential medications are now unavailable in its stores, severely undermining the ability of medical staff to provide critical treatment.

The hospital warned that essential services, particularly intensive care and chronic illness treatment, are now seriously threatened, and that if immediate action is not taken to deliver medical supplies, most health services could shut down.

It urged international humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently and avert an impending health catastrophe in Gaza.

Rights group says countries must help stranded Freedom Flotilla ship

Palestinian human rights organization Al-Haq has issued a statement saying that Malta and neighboring countries should be doing more to help after a ship carrying aid to Gaza was attacked in international waters off the Maltese coast.

Al-Haq said the countries have obligations under the Genocide Convention to “ensure passage of humanitarian aid to Gaza”.

“Throughout the past 24 hours, nearby countries in a position to provide physical assistance have largely ignored the incident,” Al-Haq said.

The group described the drone attack against the vessel as “further proof of Israel’s blatant disregard for international law”.

“World leaders have remained silent, despite the egregious nature of an attack directed at a boarded ship anchored off the coast of a European country,” the statement said.

A ship carrying aid to Gaza in a bid to break Israel’s blockade was hit by drones (allegedly Israeli) in international waters off Malta, according to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), the group that organized the mission.

Israel to call up 60,000 reservists as it seeks to expand Gaza assault

Israeli Channel 14 reports the military will issue emergency call-up orders Saturday night for approximately 60,000 reserve soldiers, in one of the largest mobilizations since the war began.

According to the unconfirmed report, regular army units will also be redeployed from the West Bank and northern borders to reinforce operations in Gaza. The move suggests preparations for an intensified phase of the ground offensive.

Trump fired Waltz because Waltz wanted to attack Iran

President Trump sacked his national security adviser Mike Waltz because he was working with a foreign leader to push the United States to attack Iran, according to a new report in the Washington Post.

The Post reports that while including a journalist on a Signal chat about plans to attack Yemen’s Houthis sealed Waltz’s fate, Waltz initially “upset” Trump during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s White House visit in February when he “appeared to share the Israeli leader’s conviction that the time was ripe to strike Iran”:

Waltz appeared to have engaged in intense coordination with Netanyahu about military options against Iran ahead of an Oval Office meeting between the Israeli leader and Trump, the two people said.

Waltz “wanted to take U.S. policy in a direction Trump wasn’t comfortable with because the U.S. hadn’t attempted a diplomatic solution,” according to one of the people.

“It got back to Trump and the president wasn’t happy with it,” that person said. […] (continue reading here).
