GAZA NEWS & HEADLINES:
Israel orders catastrophic displacement of Gazans
Tens of thousands of Palestinians are now being forcibly displaced from northern Gaza with new evacuation orders issued by Israeli forces Saturday night, which ordered people to go to the ‘Al Mawasi’ area.
As of June 13, according to OCHA, people in Gaza are being confined to just 18% of the area of the Gaza Strip (which was already one of the most crowded places on earth), with 82 per cent of the Gaza Strip now within the Israeli-militarized zone, under displacement orders, or in areas where these overlap. The UN estimates that nearly 665,000 people have been displaced yet again since March 18, including over 227,000 between 15 May and 11 June.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have fled repeated Israeli bombardments, seeking refuge in areas Israel declared “safe zones.” Al-Mawasi, once designated as a humanitarian corridor, is now under direct and repeated attacks.
Speaker of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, said Sunday that the forced displacement orders issued by the Israeli occupation forces late last night, which include more than two million citizens in the Gaza Strip, represent a new dark chapter in the record of ongoing Israeli crimes. He stressed that what is happening is not just a displacement operation, but rather a “mass forced deportation” in catastrophic humanitarian conditions, aimed at implementing systematic ethnic cleansing under the cover of war.

Zeteo Will Tell the Truth That BBC Refused to Air: Doctors in Gaza
Zeteo is pleased to announce that we are acquiring and will be releasing globally the Gaza medics documentary produced by Basement Films ‘Gaza: Doctors Under Attack.’ The documentary was originally set to be released by the BBC, until it decided to reverse course amid a company review of a separate Gaza documentary and after several high-profile delays, it dropped it.
The film tells the testimony of Palestinian doctors and healthcare workers treating patients in Gaza and how they tried to do their work and survive amidst Israel’s military attacks on hospitals and healthcare workers (a breach of international law).
In May, over 600 hundred members of the film industry – including Oscar-winning actor Susan Sarandon and British filmmaker Mike Leigh – signed an open letter criticizing the BBC for delaying the release of the film, accusing them of censoring Palestinian voices.
“No news organization should quietly decide behind closed doors whose stories are worth telling. This important film should be seen by the public, and its contributors’ bravery honored,” the letter stated (continue reading here).
The documentary will air Wednesday July 2 at 5pm ET (2pm PT) on zeteo.com (available in full only to paid subscribers).

ISRAEL HAS KILLED HUNDREDS OF ATHLETES: The Israeli army has killed 785 Palestinian athletes and sports officials in Gaza and the West Bank since October 2023, the Palestinian Football Association said on Sunday, with the vast majority killed in Gaza and 23 in the occupied West Bank, Susan Shalabi, deputy head of the association, told Anadolu. She also said Israeli attacks have completely or partially destroyed 288 sports facilities, including stadiums, gyms and club buildings. Of those, 21 were in the occupied West Bank.
ISRAEL ATTACKS INHABITED HOMES: The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that Israeli forces have demolished more than 19 homes with their residents still inside since Sunday morning, specifically in the Tuffah neighborhood and the Jabalia al-Balad and al-Nazla areas in northern Gaza. Ismail al-Thawabta, Director of the Government Media Office, condemned the strikes: “his criminal escalation demonstrates the occupation’s systematic targeting of densely populated civilian areas with the aim of mass killing, terror, genocide, and forced displacement — in complete defiance of international humanitarian law and the protections it affords civilians during wartime.”
HOSPITAL STRUGGLES TO COPE: Al Jazeera’s Moath al-Kahlout, reporting from Gaza City, described “catastrophic” scenes at the al-Ahli Hospital in the northern city as dozens of wounded civilians sought help following Israeli strikes on the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods, as well as al-Zawiya market: “There are too many wounded civilians here, including children. Many are lying on the ground because there are not enough beds or medical supplies to treat them. This facility is struggling to cope due to severe shortages,” he said.
CHILDREN IN CRISIS: Christy Black, an Australian nurse volunteering in Gaza City, said the hospital she’s based in is short of medical supplies, including formula for pregnant women who require nasogastric feeding. That leaves many without the nutrients needed to lactate – as well as baby formula, she said. “Our most vulnerable are dying,” Black told Al Jazeera. “We’ve seen a couple of babies die over the last couple of days in Gaza City. It’s really desperate here.” Malnourishment also makes it difficult to heal from wounds, she said, adding, “We’re seeing children going through the rubbish trying to find something to eat … Children who might be nine or 10 years old that look like two-year-olds.”

IRAN AND IRAN-ADJACENT NEWS AND HEADLINES:
ISRAEL, US CAN’T BE TRUSTED: The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, expressed his “doubt” that Israel will adhere to the ceasefire with Iran, and his lack of trust in both Israel and the US: “We have serious doubts about the continuation of the ceasefire and are prepared to respond to any aggression,” Mousavi said Sunday. “Israel and the United States have proven their lack of commitment to any international rules and norms,” he went on to say. “We did not initiate the war, but we responded to the aggressor with all our might and are prepared to deliver a decisive response in the event of repeated attacks.”
ISRAEL’S CASH FLOW PROBLEM: The Israeli military is reportedly struggling to replenish munitions used up during the recent conflict with Iran, raising concerns about readiness for a potential second round of fighting with Iran. Israel’s Defense Ministry has requested a budgetary increase of 60 billion shekels ($17.7 billion) to cover the costs of the assault on Iran and the latest Gaza offensive, neither of which was accounted for in the 2025 budget. However, Finance Ministry officials have resisted the request, reportedly delaying replenishment of key items needed for Israeli troops occupying Gaza.
IF IRAN BEHAVES ITSELF: US President Donald Trump said he could lift sanctions on Iran if the country demonstrates peaceful behavior and cooperation with Washington. “If they can be peaceful, and if they can join us, they are not going to do any more harm, I would take the sanctions off,” Trump said in a Fox News interview aired Sunday. “You get more sometimes with honey than you do with vinegar,” Trump said.
AMERICANS DON’T WANT WAR WITH IRAN: Polling both before and immediately after Trump launched attacks on Iran showed broad opposition to U.S. involvement in Israel’s unprovoked war including among Trump’s base. Most strikingly, 85% of people surveyed nationwide said they don’t want the U.S. to be at war with Iran, while only 5% do, according to YouGov polling conducted in the wake of the bombing.

WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM NEWS AND HEADLINES:
SURGE IN SETTLER ATTACKS: Attacks by illegal Israeli settlers on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank have surged by 30% this year, Israeli figures showed on Sunday. Israel’s Army Radio, citing government data, said the first half of 2025 saw 414 settler attacks, up from 318 in the first half of last year – an increase of 30 percent. “This increase is reflected not only in the number of attacks but also in their severity, as the attacks are becoming more and more severe,” the radio said, citing a senior military official.
