Israeli airstrikes and gunfire killed at least 75 Palestinians and injured around 100 more in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to Palestinian sources.
Among those killed in Israeli attacks Saturday were eight people in a shooting incident near an aid distribution site west of Rafah in southern Gaza.
Over 118 Palestinian aid seekers have been killed by Israeli troops at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distribution points.
In addition to those killed in Gaza, Israeli forces fatally shot Mustafa Ali Ismael Talloul, 30, near Hebron in the West Bank.

Gaza ‘losing a future generation of children’
Gaza is “losing a future generation of children” and those who survive to adulthood will face heightened health risks, obstetrician Brenda Kelly told Al Jazeera.
“We know that famine experienced in-utero has lifelong consequences for children who then go into adulthood with much higher risks of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, as well as mental health disorders,” Kelly, a subspecialist in maternal and fetal medicine at Oxford University Hospital, said.
Kelly added that Israel’s decimation of health infrastructure in Gaza means that women who do lose babies have no access to psycho-social support.
“We know the impact that this personal tragedy has for women, we know the guilt that we carry, but for many women it’s simply not safe to leave where they are to cross and try to reach the nearest health facility,” she said.
“And there are so few health facilities there, the repeated displacement of women and their families throughout Gaza makes it virtually impossible for women to know which facilities are open and get that care.”
“They killed our childhood. What did we even do wrong?”

‘Clearly an excuse’: Does Netanyahu really want Hamas gone?
Israel’s war on Gaza rumbles on, even as international condemnation grows.

Hamas has expressed that it is ready for a deal to end the war, even offering to turn over the administration of Gaza to a technocratic government. United Nations Security Council members have overwhelmingly voted in favor of a ceasefire, a resolution blocked from passing only by a United States veto.
But Israel, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is adamant in its refusal of any agreement that does not include what it calls the “defeat of Hamas”, even if that means endangering the Israeli captives still held in Gaza.
“Hamas is already the weakest it’s ever been, and there’s nothing they can do that is remotely comparable to what Israel possesses,” writer and researcher on Israel-Palestine and founder of The Fire These Times podcast Elia Ayoub told Al Jazeera.
“There’s ample evidence by now that the only reason this genocide is ongoing is because Netanyahu wants it to continue. It’s clearly just an excuse to keep the war going” (continue reading here).
Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades says Israeli forces surrounding captive’s location risk his life
The military wing of Hamas, the al-Qassam Brigades, warned on Saturday that the Israeli army is currently besieging a location where captive Israeli soldier Matan Zangauker is being held, and cautioned that any attempt to forcibly free him could result in his death.
In a statement issued by spokesman Abu Ubaida, the group said: “Israeli forces are surrounding a site where the captive Matan Zangauker is being held. We firmly affirm that the enemy will not succeed in retrieving him alive.”
“If this prisoner is killed during an attempted rescue, the Israeli army will be fully responsible for his death. We have preserved his life for a year and eight months. The warning has been delivered,” he added.

GAZA FLOTILLA UPDATE:
As Madleen Nears Egyptian Coast, Voices from Aboard Call for Gaza’s Freedom
The International Committee for Breaking the Siege on Gaza announced on Saturday that the ship Madleen is approaching the northern Egyptian coast, with only a short distance left before reaching Gaza.
The vessel, part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, is carrying 12 international activists.
Al-Jazeera cited the crew as saying that the journey is currently proceeding smoothly, despite previous nights when the ship was approached by drones later confirmed to be for reconnaissance purposes.
French Member of the European Parliament Rima Hassan, who is on board the Madleen, called for the ship’s safe passage to be ensured.
She warned that any attempt to intercept or attack the vessel would constitute a clear violation of international law. The ship is expected to reach a point 100 nautical miles from Gaza by Monday.

NOTE: The flotilla movement was begun by Greta Berlin, Paul Larudee, Mary Hughes-Thompson, Sharyn Locke, AND Eliza Ernshire. Afterward, Jewish Voice for Peace and some others tried to ‘cancel’ Greta Berlin and Ann Wright, despite their heroic and extremely consequential actions.
