It’s genocide and starvation as usual throughout Gaza.
Another journalist killed by Israeli forces in Gaza
Israeli forces have killed yet another Palestinian journalist in the Gaza Strip as the regime pushes on with its onslaught on the territory.
On Friday, Gaza’s Government Media Office said the journalist was a local radio broadcaster.
Khaled Abu Zir’s death raised the number of journalists and media workers killed by Israel in Gaza to 184 since October 2023.
The media office called on the international community to hold the regime to account for its crimes against Palestinians, especially journalists.
The Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPC) said on Saturday that the Israeli war on the besieged territory has been the deadliest for members of the press than any other conflict over the past eight decades.
The PJPC also said that “the killing has become the main weapon to silence journalists in Gaza.”
An estimated 10 percent of all journalists working in Gaza have been killed since October 2023, as the Israeli authorities still ban the entry of foreign media workers.
Israeli hooligans provoke clashes in Amsterdam after chanting anti-Palestinian slogans
NOTE: Mainstream media have painted the Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam as victims of antisemitic attacks. Below are accounts by eyewitnesses who indicate that the Israeli fans instigated violence, and “antisemitism” was not involved; rather, the focus of the protests was the genocide in Gaza.
For more on the media bias pervasive during this war, start with this and this; for more on the decades-long pro-Israel media bias, check out this and this.
Israeli hooligans provoked clashes with Dutch youth in Amsterdam on Thursday after they chanted racist anti-Arab slogans, tore down Palestinian flags and ignored a minute of silence for the Spanish flood victims.
Travelling Maccabi Tel Aviv fans stirred trouble on Wednesday and Thursday in different parts of of the Dutch capital ahead of their Uefa Europa League match against Amsterdam club Ajax.
Hooligans were seen removing at least two Palestinian flags from what appeared to be the front of local residents’ homes a night before the match, according to the AD daily newspaper.
An Arab taxi driver was also attacked by mobs who appeared to be with the Israeli fans, although police said they couldn’t identify the nationality of the attackers as no arrests were made.
A group of Israeli fans gathered in the Dam Square on Wednesday were filmed sparking confrontations with locals, shouting “Fuck you” at some of them and “Fuck you Palestine”.
Ahead of the match on Thursday, fans heading to the Johan Cruyff Arena stadium were seen shouting: “Let the IDF [Israeli army] fuck the Arabs”.
They also refused to participate in a minute of silence before kick-off for at least 200 people who died in the Valencia floods.
The police have not made any known arrests of the Israeli fans involved in provocative act ahead of the match.
Nicholas McGeehan, who is a founder of FairSquare, highlighted the track record of racist chanting by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and criticised how Dutch authorities painted them as “innocent victims of antisemitism.”
“Israel’s most senior leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have openly courted far-right football supporters in Israel and have received their violent support in return. The well-documented racism and violence exhibited by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans in Amsterdam mirrors the thuggery of the Israeli government in Gaza and Lebanon,” McGeehan told MEE.
“This does not excuse the violence that was meted out to Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, but to present them as innocent victims of antisemitism is a gross misrepresentation of the facts.
“To rid European football of the type of genocidal chanting we saw from Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, Uefa should remind the Israel Football Association of its obligations under article 7(7) of its statutes to stamp out racist behaviour, and impose appropriate sanctions if the IFA does not take action.”

Israeli forces’ lethal tactics in occupied West Bank ‘exceed law enforcement standards,’ UN warns
The UN on Friday reported an escalation of Israeli army’s actions in the occupied West Bank, warning that it seems to “exceed law enforcement standards.”
Citing the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), UN deputy spokesperson Stephanie Tremblay said at a news conference that “multiple operations by Israeli forces in the north this week included air strikes and other lethal war-like tactics, which appear to exceed law enforcement standards.”
“According to initial information, eight Palestinians were killed and four others injured during Tuesday’s operations in Jenin, Tubas and Tulkarm,” she added.
Meanwhile, Tremblay reported that from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4, “Israeli settlers carried out 35 attacks against Palestinians that caused casualties or property damage, including olive trees that were vandalized.”
After Months of Debate – Wikipedia Describes Israel’s War on Gaza as ‘Genocide’
Wikipedia has decided to rename the page – initially titled ‘Genocide allegations in the 2023 Israeli assault on Gaza’ to simply ‘Gaza Genocide’.
This change follows a community vote among contributors to the free, open-content online encyclopedia, which is written and edited by an international body of volunteers.
Drawing on expert opinions, Wikipedia editors, determined there was enough evidence from scholars and human rights organizations, like Amnesty International, to substantiate the term “genocide” in the page title.
Though this change does not hold legal significance, it could impact global public opinion culturally and politically.
The updated ‘Gaza Genocide’ article references nearly 800 sources, including human rights and field reports. Among these, several reports come from The Palestine Chronicle’s coverage of the war.
Additionally, the page highlights references made by Israeli politicians, such as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s invocation of the ‘Amalekites’ from biblical texts, stirring further discourse on Israel’s intentions.
Translated into 16 languages, including Arabic, Turkish, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Indonesian, the page begins by noting that “experts, governments, UN agencies, and NGOs have accused Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinian people in the ongoing war.”
More scandals emerge from Netanyahu’s office, including spies, blackmail, top secret documents
Informed sources revealed to Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office may be involved in intimidating and blackmailing an army officer to obtain top secret documents.
The involvement of two senior officials in Netanyahu’s office in obtaining and publishing sensitive materials from surveillance cameras related to a senior army officer is being investigated.
According to the sources, investigations are underway to determine whether this is another incident in which senior officials ignored procedures, instructed subordinates to act against the rules and violated basic information security and privacy protection principles.
The sources shared: “Spies were recruited by Netanyahu’s office in the Israeli army to steal top secret documents and transfer them to the office, followed by forged publication in the media to serve the narrative against the hostage deal.”
The newspaper revealed that two senior officials in the Prime Minister’s Office were found to have embarrassing personal documents pertaining to a senior officer in the Israeli army.
It noted that the former spokesperson for the Israeli prime minister, Eliezer Feldstein, who is suspected of involvement in leaking secret documents to the press, had previously been dismissed from the Israeli army during his reserve service at the beginning of the Gaza war.

STATISTICS OCTOBER 7, 2023 – NOVEMBER 8, 2024:
Palestinian death toll from October 7, 2023 – November 8, 2024: at least 44,331* ( 43,552 in Gaza* – 69% are women and children, according to Gaza’s Media Office). [The Ministry’s figures have been contested by the Israeli authorities, although they have been accepted as accurate by Israeli intelligence services, the UN, and WHO. These data are supported by independent analyses, comparing changes in the number of deaths of UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) staff with those reported by the Ministry, which found claims of data fabrication implausible.]
This is expected to be a significant undercount since thousands of those killed have yet to be identified. This does not include an estimated 10,000 more in Gaza still buried under rubble (4,900 women and children).
In the West Bank, Israeli soldiers and/or settlers have killed at least 779 Palestinians (~167 of them children).
In July 2024, the Lancet said: “Applying a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths per one direct death to the 37,396 deaths reported, it is not implausible to estimate that up to 186,000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza.
Ralph Nader earlier estimated 300,000 Palestinians may have been killed in Gaza.
- At least 45 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons (27 from Gaza, 25 from West Bank).
- At least 41 Palestinians have died due to malnutrition (at least 37 of them children)**.
- About 1.9 million of Gaza’s 2.3 million population are currently displaced.
- About 345,000 Gazans are currently experiencing catastrophic levels of food insecurity.
Palestinian injuries from October 7 – November 8, 2024: at least 109,065 (including at least 102,765 in Gaza and 6,300 in the West Bank, including 830 children). [It remains unknown how many Americans are among the casualties in Gaza.]
Reported Israeli death toll from October 7, 2023 – November 8, 2024: ~1,574 (~1,139 on October 7, 2023, of which ~32 were Americans, and ~36 were children); 396*** military forces since the ground invasion began in Gaza (most recent: Nov 2); 39 military and civilians in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Israel) and~10,000 injured.
The death toll in Lebanon since October 8, 2023 is at least 3,117, with 13,888 injuries. An estimated 1.34 million have been displaced.
NOTE: It is unknown at this time how many of the deaths and injuries of Israelis on October 7 were caused by Israeli soldiers.
*Previously, IAK did not include 471 Gazans killed in the Al Ahli hospital blast since the source of the projectile was being disputed. However, given that much evidence points to Israel as the culprit, Israel had previously bombed the hospital and has attacked many others, Israel is prohibiting outside experts from investigating the scene, and since the UN and other agencies are including the deaths from the attack in their cumulative totals, if Americans knew is now also doing so.
**Euro-Med Monitor reports that Gaza’s elderly are dying at an alarmingly high rate. The majority die at home and are buried either close to their residences or in makeshift graves dispersed across the Strip. There are currently more than 140 such cemeteries. Additionally, according to Euromed, thousands have died from starvation, malnourishment, and inadequate medical care; these are considered indirect victims as they were not registered in hospitals.
***The figure does not include the reportedly 56 Israeli soldiers – nearly 16% of the total Israeli military deaths – killed due to friendly fire in Gaza and other military-related accidents.
† For most of the conflict, women and children accounted for about 70% of deaths in Gaza, with children making up a little over 40% of those killed, according to official statistics.
