WAR ON IRAN NEWS & HEADLINES:

Why is If Americans Knew covering the war on Iran? It can not be overemphasized that Israel has been the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran for years. This is especially true right now, under Donald Trump. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades.

The American people have made clear that they do not want to go to war with Iran, but Israel partisans and the Israel lobby use their massive political clout to bring about whatever is beneficial to Israel – including putting the US military in harm’s way. For more background on Israel’s role in American wars, watch IAK’s short film, “The Israeli Hit List.”

Death toll (all numbers are tentative):

  • Seven US troops have been killed since the war on Iran began, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).
  • In Israel, 13 people have been killed and 1,929 injured, the majority with minor injuries.
  • In Iran, 1,348 people have reportedly been killed since the conflict began, the head of Iran’s National Emergency Organization reported. 193 are children, 200 are women.
  • In Lebanon, at least 570 people have been killed (at least 83 of them children).
  • In other Arab states, at least 19 people have been killed.

The Unexpected Winner of the Iran War? Green Energy in Asia and Europe: China’s decision to invest heavily in a transition to a green economy has also helped buffer it from Iran’s decision to turn the Strait of Hormuz into a chokepoint for the global economy. It’s a War With Iran, Not an “Intervention”: Wars have been distinctly out of fashion as of late, especially since the quagmires of Iraq and Afghanistan. Whether those quagmires are to be blamed on “dumb, politically correct wars” in the eyes of War Secretary Pete Hegseth or not, the idea of putting boots on the ground, doing regime change, occupying a country, and putting American lives in danger is political suicide.

Western media refute Trump’s claims Iran possesses Tomahawk missiles: On Monday, Trump suggested Iran may have used Tomahawks in the attack on an Iranian school, calling the weapon “very generic” and implying that multiple countries, including Iran, could have access to the system. However, journalists and weapons experts swiftly noted there is no credible evidence that Iran has ever obtained the weapon.
