Israeli forces have killed 109 Palestinians across Gaza, including 28 aid-seekers; a 29-year-old man died of malnutrition.
Two more Palestinians were killed in the West Bank – one a teenager – bringing the total there to 1,000 deaths since October 7, 2023.
A note from the Gaza Ministry of Health: 223 martyrs have been added to the cumulative martyrs’ statistics, after their data was completed and approved by the Judicial Committee following up on the reports and missing persons file.

GAZA NEWS & HEADLINES:
ISRAEL’S DELIBERATE STARVATION OF INFANTS: At the end of June, an American doctor was preparing to travel to Gaza for a medical mission. His suitcases were filled with cans of baby formula, gauze, bandages and sanitary pads. The Palestinian population of the enclave, bombarded and starved by the Israeli army, lacks everything. “The baby formula was confiscated,” said the doctor. “What other explanation is there, if it’s not that hunger is being used as a weapon of war in the ongoing genocide in Gaza?” Local health workers said baby formula is desperately lacking in the enclave, especially specialized formula for premature babies or lactose-free formula for babies with intolerances. Many mothers, suffering from malnutrition, are unable to breastfeed.
ADULT MALNUTRITION DEATH: Another Palestinian died of severe malnutrition caused by Israel’s crippling siege on the Gaza Strip, a medical source said on Tuesday. Ayoub Abu Al-Hussain, 29, died in Khan Younis. Ismail Thawabteh, head of the Gaza government media office, said, “The new death represents a tragic and shocking development in the worsening humanitarian tragedy in Gaza due to the siege imposed by the criminal Israeli occupation.”
CALLS TO END TO GHF: More than 170 international NGOs, including Oxfam, Save the Children, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, issued a joint declaration on 1 July in Geneva calling for an immediate end to the US-Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). Over 550 Palestinians have reportedly been killed near GHF aid distribution sites. The Israeli army admitted on 24 June that Palestinian civilians had been harmed at GHF distribution centers and confirmed that “new instructions” were issued to soldiers following “lessons learned.”

ISRAEL RELEASES DETAINEES: Israel set free 14 Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after several months in detention, a medical source said. They were brought by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah city. Palestinian prisoners previously set free by Israel have shown signs of torture and medical neglect after their release from custody.

PARTNERS IN WAR CRIME: UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has named more than 60 companies, including major arms manufacturers and technology firms, in a report alleging their involvement in supporting Israeli settlements and military actions in Gaza, which she called a “genocidal campaign…This report shows why Israel’s genocide continues: because it is lucrative for many,” Albanese wrote. She accused corporate entities of being “financially bound to Israel’s apartheid and militarism.”

CEASEFIRE NEWS:
The Israeli public broadcaster KAN, citing two unnamed diplomatic sources, says a ceasefire proposal, submitted by Qatar, is on the table. The proposed framework resembles an earlier plan advanced by US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff.
US President Donald Trump says Israel has accepted the ceasefire deal, but he gave no details of the plan, except that it is a temporary, 60-day halt of the war. He said, “I hope for the sake of the Middle East that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not get better – IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.” Until now, Israel has not publicly confirmed the agreement.
Hamas, for its part, has repeatedly said it is willing to release all Israeli captives in exchange for an end to the war, full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners – conditions Netanyahu has rejected, insisting on additional demands such as disarming Palestinian resistance factions.
Critics in Israel, including the opposition and families of the hostages, accuse Netanyahu of prolonging the war to satisfy hardline factions in his coalition and maintain his grip on power.
An Israeli source told Haaretz that the latest outline of the deal, to which Minister Ron Dermer gave a positive response to the U.S., does not include a clear Israeli commitment to end the war, but offers strong assurances on the issue. The document states, for example, that if no agreement is reached during the 60-day cease-fire, the mediators will be responsible for ensuring that negotiations continue “under certain conditions.”
Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan noted that four weeks ago, Netanyahu rejected a framework proposal put forward by mediators that would have involved a temporary 60-day ceasefire, followed by negotiations leading to a permanent truce and the opening of crossings to allow humanitarian aid.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Wednesday reached out to Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to discuss joining forces to thwart a deal for a cease-fire in Gaza and the release of the hostages.
WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM NEWS AND HEADLINES:
(For background on the West Bank, read this and this)
Israel has killed 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7, 2023
As the world was distracted by Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed more than 56,331 people and uprooted nearly the entire population of 2.3 million, Israel ramped up its violent raids on the West Bank, as well as its silence as Israeli settlers attack and kill Palestinian villagers.
Who is attacking Palestinians in the West Bank? Israeli forces and Israeli settlers from illegal settlements that are choking the West Bank. Settlers launch sudden, violent raids on towns, burning property, attacking people, and trying to drive them out of their homes.
At the same time, the security forces have surrounded refugee camps and raided them relentlessly, driving yet more people from their homes and not allowing them to return (continue reading here).
Message from Bethlehem pastor about the situation in the West Bank
“I want to bring attention to the dire situation in the West Bank, particularly in Bethlehem. Currently, a staggering 86% of our land is under Israeli control, whether through military presence or settlers. This leaves us with only 14% of the land under our own control. The city [Bethlehem] is encircled by 54 checkpoints, which can be closed at Israel’s discretion, effectively trapping the residents. Just last week, there were three days when access in and out of Bethlehem was completely sealed off.
The conditions we are witnessing in the West Bank are now beginning to mirror those in Gaza, albeit on a smaller scale. Sadly, the ongoing suffering of our people, from the genocide in Gaza to the settler colonial practices in the West Bank, remains largely unreported in the news.
Freedom of movement has become increasingly challenging, impacting our students and professors significantly. For instance, students from Tulkarem faced a heartbreaking experience just three months ago when their aunt passed away about 70 miles from Bethlehem. They attempted to attend the funeral but endured a grueling nine-hour journey, only to arrive after the service had concluded.
This situation raises serious concerns about the impact on our young people. For our professors as well, traveling from places like Ramallah to Bethlehem has become an arduous challenge. Israel routinely closes all main roads for Palestinians, except on Saturdays, making commutes increasingly difficult. The primary route between Ramallah and Bethlehem is inaccessible from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM daily, leaving it open only to Jewish individuals.” – Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb

US ambassador Huckabee, Israeli defense minister Katz propose air strikes on Yemen with bunker buster bombs
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee on Tuesday night suggested air strikes by B-2 stealth bombers on Yemen after a missile was launched from the Arab country.
“We thought we were done with missiles coming to Israel, but Houthis just lit one up over us in Israel. Fortunately, Israel’s incredible interception system means we go to the shelter and wait until all clear,” he said on his X account. “Maybe those B2 bombers need to visit Yemen!”
The Israeli army said early Tuesday that a missile from Yemen was intercepted by its Air Force.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, for his part, threatened to launch air strikes on the Houthi group in Yemen, similar to a recent assault launched against Iran.
“Yemen will be treated like Tehran. After striking the head of the snake in Tehran, we will also strike the Houthis in Yemen,” Katz wrote on X. “Whoever raises a hand against Israel – that hand will be cut off,” he added.
