They have much in common: they both come from prominent nonviolent activist families, both are victims – along with their families and entire towns – of collective punishment, and it looks like neither young man will be going home anytime soon.

The first Palestinian death of 2018 is a teenage boy – a relative of Ahed Tamimi, who was arrested after slapping a soldier who had shot her cousin in the face. Her mother and another female cousin were also arrested.
