May 25 – May 31, 2017: A thousand Palestinians being held in Israeli jails ended their hunger strike after 40 days without food. Palestinians in Gaza only have a few hours of electricity and running water a day and are forced to buy bottled water to meet their daily needs.
As promised in our previous post, here are more of the messages composing our tribute to Alison Weir in honor of her birthday. The Palestinian Authority is asking the U.S. to intervene while the International Committee of the Red Cross stated that it is “neutral” institution that “neither supports nor advocates against a hunger strike.” Yet it was the ICRC that cut Palestinian family visits from twice a month to once.
