On the uncontrollable Israeli urge to kill Palestinians

A document laying down the principles for a Death Penalty Bill for terrorists for second and third reading of the bill states: A death sentence will be imposed, with no right of appeal, solely “on anyone who murders a Jew simply because they are a Jew.” The sentence will be carried out within 90 days by means of a lethal injection.

Hence, we have before us a selective death penalty for Palestinians only. Jewish supremacy at its best. A racist law. Its message: Jewish lives are sacrosanct, Death to the Arabs! Jews who murdered Arabs would not be executed, and Arabs who murdered people who are less than Jews would not be executed either. In the Jewish state — only Jewish lives are sacrosanct. Whereas Arab lives have no value. The state is allowed to kill them recklessly and wholesale, while not taking the lives of their Jewish murderers.

The bill also gives the impression of an almost uncontrollable national urge to kill Arabs. The legislators really felt compelled to quick-smart inject, without delay, without an elementary right of appeal, even though this is the ultimate punishment that can be imposed on a human being. So if it turns out, after the fact, that it was a case of mistaken identification, this would not burden the conscience of the Jewish legislators. From their perspective, taking the life of an Arab is never a mistake.

Even if it turns out in retrospect that they did not murder a Jew. So what? They are still an Arab. And the need to kill them is steeped in the murderous, blind, and blood-dripping vengeance that has guided many Jews since October 7. And after this date, there is little point in talking about Israeli conduct. There is no Israeliness. There is the Jewish state.

Imagine the law being approved in this form and enforced by the prison service that obeys Ben-Gvir, regardless of whatever the High Court of Justice says, (which the government will not recognize anyway). Thousands of Nukhba [Hamas elite troops] terrorists will be executed using this method: quickly, in a moving assembly line, dozens a day, a small needle and it goes away, as Meir Ariel once mentioned in a different context.

And to echo that song about the end of the season of the oranges, it the end of the season of the Arabs. Wholesale death. No smell. No power outages. No heads rolling and no bodies dangling from cranes. And yet, industrial death. Death without any discretion for judges. Automatic death. Death without hesitation. Instead of normalisation of relations with Saudi Arabia, normalization of executions.
