Compilation of news reports – IAK staff
Gaza, Saturday
A total of at least 100 Palestinians were killed on Saturday.
At least 40 Palestinians were killed on Saturday by an Israeli airstrike on a building sheltering more than 100 displaced civilians in the Tel al-Zaatar area of north Gaza.
A NEW FLOUR MASSACRE: At least 12 Palestinians died in an Israeli attack while waiting for food aid to be distributed in Khan Younis city in southern Gaza.
A NEW WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN ATTACK: A civilian car belonging to the World Central Kitchen (WCK) was targeted by an Israeli drone in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis. Five civilians were killed, including three of the WCK workers without any prior warning.
Several other massacres were reported on Saturday afternoon across the Gaza Strip. Attacks in Khan Younis in the south killed at least 17 Palestinians, including Save the Children staff member Ahmad Faisal Isleem al-Qadi, along with his wife and three-year-old daughter.
The Israeli army on Saturday also killed Al-Aqsa TV journalist Mamdouh Qunaita during a drone strike on the Baptist Hospital south of Gaza City; the number of journalists killed in Gaza is now 191.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has reported the death of a three-week-old Palestinian baby – born prematurely – from pneumonia. UNICEF said the baby’s mother, Hala, did not name the child for fear of losing him and that attacks on Gaza’s hospitals prevented the baby from receiving the neonatal intensive care he needed.
At least 2,700 Palestinians have now been killed since Israel’s brutal ground and aerial assault of the north began on October 5, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency.
In Lebanon, where a ceasefire is in effect
At least two were killed in Israeli drone attack on the Lebanese town of Nabatieh.
Hamas Agrees to US/Israel-Proposed 12-Day Ceasefire; But Israel has not Agreed
Hamas calls for probe into Israeli use of heavy weapons in north Gaza
The Palestinian group demanded the formation of an international committee to investigate the Israeli military’s use of weapons that are allegedly “vaporizing” bodies in northern Gaza.
“The horrific testimonies provided by citizens and doctors in northern Gaza following the air strikes and massacres carried out [by Israel] against innocent civilians, and the confirmation of cases of targeting with weapons and ammunition that lead to the vaporization of bodies, strongly point to the use of internationally banned weapons by the terrorist occupation army,” Hamas said in a statement on Telegram.
Ben-Gvir’s latest supremacist comments
Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said that the proposal currently on the table for a Gaza cease-fire and hostage release deal is irrelevant, and that he knows “the prime minister really, really doesn’t want [Ben-Gvir’s party] Otzma Yehudit to leave the government.”
Speaking to Army Radio, he added, “We are currently on the right path in Gaza.”
“Ideas like settlement in the Gaza Strip are welcome,” he said, adding, “Conquering Gaza is definitely an idea. But I must admit, that’s not enough for me; I also want to encourage migration. I think we should allow [Palestinians] to migrate voluntarily to their countries.”
Ben-Gvir said he is “working hard with the prime minister to make this happen, and he is beginning to show some openness on the matter.”
NOTE: Forced transfer of a people group is a crime against humanity.
Biden Makes His Own Attack on Nonprofit Over Palestine
Climate Justice Alliance was the only program grantee to speak out on Palestine — and the only one whose funding is delayed.
The Climate Justice Alliance, a national coalition of more than 100 community environmental groups, was one of 11 grant-making organizations designated for Environmental Protection Agency funding under President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act.
The Climate Justice Alliance is the only group of the 11 grantees that has engaged publicly on issues related to Palestine — and the only one that hasn’t received its funding.
Climate Justice Alliance Executive Director KD Chavez said the organization, which was recently attacked by right-wing politicians and media, has been targeted because of its anti-war stance.
Palestine is hardly a focus of the Climate Justice Alliance’s work, but past statements calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and denouncing apartheid in Palestine have come under a microscope amid a political climate that is increasingly hostile to any form of support for Palestinians.
“Since our founding, CJA has been really clear in our position opposing war, racism, and colonialism,” said Chavez.
“For us, there is a direct tie to carbon emissions and militarism, and we stand behind our environmental and climate justice work, which is going to mean that we are anti-war at heart” (continue reading here).

STATISTICS OCTOBER 7, 2023 – NOVEMBER 30, 2024:
Palestinian death toll from October 7, 2023 – November 30, 2024: at least 45,225* ( 44,429 in Gaza* – 69% are women and children, according to Gaza’s Media Office). [The Ministry’s figures have been contested by the Israeli authorities, although they have been accepted as accurate by Israeli intelligence services, the UN, and WHO. These data are supported by independent analyses, comparing changes in the number of deaths of UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) staff with those reported by the Ministry, which found claims of data fabrication implausible.]
This is expected to be a significant undercount since thousands of those killed have yet to be identified. This does not include an estimated 10,000 more in Gaza still buried under rubble (4,900 women and children).
In the West Bank, Israeli soldiers and/or settlers have killed at least 796 Palestinians (~167 of them children).
In July 2024, the Lancet said: “Applying a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths per one direct death to the 37,396 deaths reported, it is not implausible to estimate that up to 186,000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza.
Ralph Nader earlier estimated 300,000 Palestinians may have been killed in Gaza.
- At least 60 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons.
- At least 43 Palestinians have died due to malnutrition (at least 37 of them children)**.
- About 1.9 million of Gaza’s 2.3 million population are currently displaced.
- About 345,000 Gazans are currently experiencing catastrophic levels of food insecurity.
Palestinian injuries from October 7 – November 30, 2024: at least 111,700 (including at least 105,250 in Gaza and 6,450 in the West Bank, including 830 children). [It remains unknown how many Americans are among the casualties in Gaza.]
Reported Israeli death toll from October 7, 2023 – November 30, 2024: ~1,583 (~1,139 on October 7, 2023, of which ~32 were Americans, and ~36 were children); 405*** military forces since the ground invasion began in Gaza (updated: Nov 21); 39 military and civilians in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Israel) and~10,000 injured.
The death toll in Lebanon since October 8, 2023 is at least 3,961, with 16,520 injuries.
NOTE: It is unknown at this time how many of the deaths and injuries of Israelis on October 7 were caused by Israeli soldiers.
*Previously, IAK did not include 471 Gazans killed in the Al Ahli hospital blast since the source of the projectile was being disputed. However, given that much evidence points to Israel as the culprit, Israel had previously bombed the hospital and has attacked many others, Israel is prohibiting outside experts from investigating the scene, and since the UN and other agencies are including the deaths from the attack in their cumulative totals, if Americans knew is now also doing so.
**Euro-Med Monitor reports that Gaza’s elderly are dying at an alarmingly high rate. The majority die at home and are buried either close to their residences or in makeshift graves dispersed across the Strip. There are currently more than 140 such cemeteries. Additionally, according to Euromed, thousands have died from starvation, malnourishment, and inadequate medical care; these are considered indirect victims as they were not registered in hospitals.
***The figure does not include the reportedly 56 Israeli soldiers – nearly 16% of the total Israeli military deaths – killed due to friendly fire in Gaza and other military-related accidents.
† For most of the conflict, women and children accounted for about 70% of deaths in Gaza, with children making up a little over 40% of those killed, according to official statistics.
