Israeli attack on UNRWA school in Nuseirat kills at least 17

Al Jazeera reports: We have an update on the figures from the attack on the UNRWA school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. According to eye witnesses who saw the bodies being taken to Al-Aqsa Hospital, at least 17 people have been killed; another 80 were injured.

Footage from the school shows injured children lying on the ground with body parts scattered about.

Many of the people who were killed had arrived in recent days after Israel issued evacuation orders in several areas.

We walked into the Al-Aqsa Hospital and saw women and children on the floor who experienced severe burns crying out in pain and agony. This is the result of incinerating bombs packed with nails and causing severe burns and wounds.

Biden administration mute on Mawasi massacre

As of Sunday night, the United States has not commented on the massacre that Israel carried out Saturday – allegedly targeting a top Hamas official – which killed over 90 Palestinians. The bombs used in the incident were at least partially American-made.

An official from the UN who visited the hospital where many of the casualties were brought described the scene:

“I saw toddlers who are double amputees, children paralyzed and unable to receive treatment, and others separated from their parents. I also saw mothers and fathers who were unsure if their children were alive. Parents told me in despair that they had moved into the ‘so-called humanitarian zone’ in the hope that their children would be safe there.”
