Elbit Systems has accepted two contracts worth $260 million to deliver advanced airborne munitions to the Israeli Ministry of Defense.
The Haifa-based company did not disclose which specific articles are included in the deals, but its current portfolio of flagship airborne munitions includes the GATR laser-guided 70-millimeter rocket, compatible with existing launch platforms, and the MPR500 precision-guided rocket.
It also offers the PULS artillery rocket system capable of launching multiple types of ammunition with precision strike capabilities, the Rampage long-range air-to-surface missile, and the SkyStriker loitering munition designed to neutralize high-value targets.
In previous confirmed military sales to the Israel Defense Forces, Elbit delivered its Iron Sting 120-millimeter guided mortar with dual laser and GPS guidance for urban operations, the Lizard 3 bomb kit that converts conventional explosives into laser-guided precision munitions, and the SPICE family of air-to-surface guided bombs built for high-precision standoff strikes.
Commenting on the contract, CEO Bezhalel Machlis emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting the Israel Ministry of Defense and enhancing the operational readiness of the Israel Defense Forces.
“These new contracts underscore our commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies that meet the evolving needs of Israel’s defense forces,” Machlis stated.
“These newly developed products join Elbit Systems’ growing portfolio of cutting-edge solutions, and I believe they will attract interest from armies around the world, given their relevance to emerging operational needs.”

Israel to acquire KC-46 refueling aircraft in $500 million US-funded deal
Reposted from JNS, August 21, 2025
Israel is set to sign a contract with the U.S. government to purchase its fifth and sixth Boeing-made refueling aircraft for the Air Force, pending approval from the Defense Procurement Ministerial Committee.
The deal is a follow-on contract for two additional KC-46 refueling aircraft, supplementing the four already purchased. The new planes will be fitted with Israeli systems and adapted to meet the operational requirements of the Israeli Air Force.
The contract, valued at roughly half a billion dollars and funded through U.S. aid, marks a significant milestone in the Defense Ministry’s broader force buildup for the IDF.
“The fifth and sixth refueling aircraft will strengthen the IAF—the IDF’s long-range strategic arm—enabling it to reach distant theaters with greater force and scope,” said Defense Ministry Director General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram. “We will continue to work together to strengthen the IDF in the current campaign and toward future challenges.”
Added Maj. Gen. (res.) Ido Nehushtan, president of Boeing Israel: “The KC-46A tanker aircraft will provide the world’s most advanced multi-mission aerial refueling capability to the IAF.”
The Washington-based JINSA first advocated in 2018 for providing Israel with KC-46A tankers in order to enhance its ability to destroy Iran’s nuclear program.
