Few people are aware of the religious intolerance that motivates the ultra-Orthodox Jewish settlers on the West Bank. Consider the statement of one of their heroes, the former Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel: “The only reason for the existence of non-Jews is to serve Jews.”
Alison Weir reports: Israel has a long history of actions against its Christian minority. Israeli forces have desecrated churches, rabbis have endorsed killing non-Jewish civilians (including children), New Testaments have been burned, Christian land has been confiscated for Jewish-only habitation. Like Muslims, Christians have been persecuted by Israel ever since it was established in 1948…
President Trump recently proclaimed April 3rd “Education Day,” in honor of a man known as “The Rebbe.” Such a day has been proclaimed by every President for the past 42 years. But the rabbi that this national day celebrates disseminated some teachings that were profoundly problematic, especially for Palestinians in the Occupied Territories… for example, that non-Jews were “created to serve the Jews.”

While many of Schneerson’s other teachings are laudable, his supremacist, racist teachings exemplified here support violence and terrorism against Palestinians. We feel that a national day in which Americans honor the perpetrator of such dangerous teachings is deeply wrong. Please help us expose this and end it.
