NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:

For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of Palestinians being killed in Gaza is lower since the October 2025 “ceasefire” began, over 320 days ago – about 4 per day, vs. over 100 per day during the 733 days of the “war.” But Israel is actively working (with Trump’s “Board of Peace“) to ethnically cleanse Gaza of its Palestinian population, even as the low-level killing continues. Genocide experts, along with organizations like the United Nations and Amnesty International, maintain that the genocide is ongoing.

Food has returned to Gaza’s markets, but most people still can’t afford to eat: Prices have fallen sharply since the famine of 2025, but with purchasing power destroyed by nearly three years of war and displacement, food on the shelves remains out of reach for the majority of Gaza’s population. “We have been living in tents for more than two years. We have spent all our money trying to stay alive, and we have nothing left.”

‘Guilt by association’: why seven international aid workers were killed in Israeli airstrike: Interviews with senior Israeli officers suggest Israel’s investigation glossed over the role played in the killings by a common IDF practice used to designate targets, which endangers aid workers and civilians in general. The army’s own internal data suggests more than three-quarters of the 70,000+ dead have been civilians.

US rejects Israeli suggestions of removing Palestinians from Gaza: “As explicitly stated in Point 12 of the President’s plan: ‘No one will be forced to leave Gaza and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza’,” a State Department spokesperson told Al Jazeera on Friday.

*NOTE: In fact, Israel has violated the several terms of the ceasefire under Trump’s 20-point deal.

    • All military operations were supposed to be suspended, but Israel has continued them, killing close to 1,340 Palestinians since the ceasefire began
    • Israel was supposed to restart the full quantity of aid into Gaza (600 trucks a day), along with rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads – none of these commitments have been fulfilled
    • the Rafah crossing was supposed to be opened in both directions – it has not allowed the quantity of traffic it had agreed to
    • Israel  was supposed to gradually withdraw from Gaza – instead, it is holding more of Gaza than before – going from 53% to approaching 70% (with possible plans for 100%).

Palestinian football returns after nearly 3-year pause due to Israel’s genocide: Palestinian football returned on Friday with a club competition in the occupied West Bank, the Gaza Strip and refugee camps in Lebanon after a nearly three-year suspension due to Israel’s genocidal war, in a competition called, “Thousand Martyrs Cup,” As many as 244 clubs from the West Bank, Gaza and the diaspora are participating.

The association named the competition in memory of Palestinian athletes killed by Israel during its war on the Gaza Strip.

Israeli police alleged that he had attempted to stab people at the site. Palestinian sources identified the slain Palestinian as Ibrahim Al-Hindi, 33, from Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

‘They’re not even people’: Israeli rhetoric could serve as evidence of genocidal intent*, legal experts say: Last month, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for killing “30 to 40” Palestinians in Gaza every night, saying some Palestinians “are not worthy of life” and “are not even people.” Other Israeli figures have also denied Palestinian peoplehood.

*NOTE: Several organizations have created databases containing hundreds of genocidal statements by Israeli leaders, former leaders, and others.

South Africa brought a case against Israel to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in December 2023, accusing Israel of committing genocide. The Court ruled by an overwhelming majority that there was a “plausible” case for genocide (an official ruling may take years), and ordered Israel in January 2024 to “take all measures within its power” to halt acts that contribute to genocide, to allow sufficient humanitarian aid into Gaza to end the suffering among Palestinian civilians, and to prevent and punish the public statements of incitement made by senior Israeli officials. None of these measures has been taken.

As early as 6 weeks into the war, the New York Times reported that “Calls for Gaza to be “flattened,” “erased” or “destroyed” had been mentioned about 18,000 times since Oct. 7 in Hebrew posts on X… The cumulative effect, experts say, has been to normalize public talk of “erasing” the people of Gaza, ethnic cleansing, and the nuclear annihilation of the territory…”

ISRAELI MEDIA: Netanyahu: Toppling Iranian regime is Israel’s ‘central mission,’ goal ‘within reach’

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:

IRAN

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

Evidence confirms US munition directly struck Iranian wedding, killing five: Report: Video and images from the scene of a US airstrike on a wedding in Iran show that the explosion was caused by a direct hit from a US munition, according to a Reuters analysis published on 4 September.

LEBANON

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

Release of Lebanese national detained without charge highlights Israel’s admission of arbitrary detentions: The release was part of a decision involving five people detained by Israel in Lebanon. The office of Israeli PM Netanyahu said an investigation showed they “do not belong to any terrorist organization, have not engaged in terrorism, and there is no justification for their continued detention.”

On the same day as the prisoner release was announced, Israeli forces took more Lebanese citizens captive.

SYRIA

Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.

The article has drawn widespread criticism, with many viewing it as a confirmation that Tel Aviv expects the US citizens to fight and die in wars fought on its behalf.

Israel takes its war on Palestine into the AI age: For example, the Hanover Institute for Public Policy has the online presence of an American think tank, but in reality, it is a $900,000 propaganda project that traces back to the Israeli gov’t, aimed at shaping search engine results and influencing the answers generated by AI chatbots.
