NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:

For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of Palestinians being killed in Gaza is lower since the October 2025 “ceasefire” began, over 320 days ago – about 4 per day, vs. over 100 per day during the 733 days of the “war.” But Israel is actively working (with Trump’s “Board of Peace“) to ethnically cleanse Gaza of its Palestinian population, even as the low-level killing continues. Genocide experts, along with organizations like the United Nations and Amnesty International, maintain that the genocide is ongoing.

Four Palestinians, including a child and an elderly man, were killed and several others injured on Tuesday as Israeli forces continued attacks across the devastated Gaza Strip.

Gaza hospital reports severe NICU overcrowding amid rise in premature births: An increase in premature births and congenital abnormalities in Gaza has been linked to malnutrition and the deteriorating health of pregnant women and conditions resulting from the war in Gaza.

Israel starved Gaza. Now doctors fear it has permanently damaged a generation: In the pediatrics department at Nasser Hospital in Gaza, doctors are seeing a surge in stunted growth among children. This lasting mark of Israel’s engineered famine may affect cognition, hormones, and health for generations to come.

Seven mouths, one meal: Feeding a family through Gaza’s food crisis: Families across Gaza struggle to secure food as community kitchens operate irregularly, prices rise and humanitarian aid remains limited and unpredictable.

Israel’s Quadcopter Drones Have Become a Weapon of Everyday Killing in Gaza: No space, either on land or in water, sits outside the drones’ reach. The siege tightens by the day.

Photos: Palestinians rebuild Gaza’s ruins with mud bricks, scrap: The rudimentary structures offer little protection from heat, rain, or cold, but residents say they are the only alternative to sleeping in overcrowded tents or in the open air.

Gaza water crisis reaches critical levels, municipality warns: In Gaza City, daily water needs are estimated at about 100,000 cubic metres, while only about 30,000 cubic metres are available even under the best conditions, representing a 70 per cent shortfall. This follows the destruction by Israeli forces of about 72 main water wells that supplied the city.

ISRAELI MEDIA: Israel barring recruits it vetted for Gaza police from leaving Strip for training: Roughly 16,500 Palestinians have successfully undergone Israeli vetting to serve on the Board of Peace’s new Gaza police force, Netanyahu’s government is reportedly blocking them from leaving the Strip to begin training.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:

Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)

Israeli Army Kills Palestinian During Home Siege Near Nablus: Israeli occupation forces invaded Aqraba, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, early Tuesday and surrounded and attacked a home. The soldiers killed a Palestinian man and took his body.

Media reports said a large Israeli military force invaded the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus, surrounded a home, and demanded that Abdul-Karim Mohammad Salem Khader, 28, surrender. Khader reportedly refused to surrender. After hours of siege and exchanges of fire, Israeli forces withdrew, taking with them the body of Khader.

Israel’s new West Bank separation wall closes in on Palestinian communities: While the army damages water pipes and confiscates cars, settlers from Jordan Valley outposts terrorize shepherding families — forcing dozens to flee.

Israeli forces abducted at least 21 Palestinians, including a woman and two children, during invasions across the West Bank on Tuesday. Soldiers also demolished structures, displaced families, restricted movement, and deployed in Bethlehem’s Manger Square, while colonizers carried out attacks and seized Palestinian land.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

Israeli opposition leaders demand state inquiry after report Netanyahu ignored pre-Oct. 7 warning: After an Israeli media report said PM Netanyahu received an explicit warning about Hamas plans shortly before the Oct. 7, 2023 events, but failed to inform Israel’s security chiefs, there are demands for explanation. Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman and Yair Golan issued a joint statement saying Israelis deserve to know what happened before, during and after the Oct. 7 events.

“Netanyahu, enough with the lies; the Israeli public deserves to know: What did you know, and when did you know?” they said in the statement posted on Eisenkot’s X account (original story here).

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:

IRAN

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

The IRGC claimed Tuesday to have captured an American submersible drone in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US attacked five Iranian oil tankers on Tuesday, after accusing Tehran of launching ballistic missiles at a US warship twice in two days. Iran responded to Tuesday’s attacks by firing missiles at the Al Azraq base in Jordan. It also claimed additional strikes on two US vessels and eight tankers in the region.

LEBANON

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

SYRIA

Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.

Israeli violations in Syria may amount to war crimes: UN inquiry: The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria said Israeli military activity on Syrian territory has become increasingly “sustained and entrenched,” with ground incursions, patrols, raids and searches conducted routinely and causing displacement among residents.

MORE NEWS & HEADLINES – SPECIAL FOCUS ON UK

Britain, France, and Canada rolled out new sanctions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank Tuesday. The joint statement, also signed by nine other European countries, announced restrictions on trade with settlements, called on Israel to halt settlement expansion, and ensure accountability for settler violence, and investigate allegations against Israeli forces.

The joint statement was signed by the Foreign Ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

UK premier vows not to stand by amid continued ‘horrific suffering’ of Palestinians: “For too long, we have been hesitant to act, fearful of being accused of being anti-Israel*,” Andy Burnham, the UK’s new PM said, reiterating his view that the suffering of the Palestinian people is “a scar on the conscience of the world.”

*NOTE: In reality, world leaders have often been fearful not of being accused of being anti-Israel, but of being (falsely) accused of antisemitism. Israel’s self-positioning as the global home for Jews is an example of the intentional conflation of Israel with all Jews. This framing makes it easy to insist that criticism of Israel is antisemitic (i.e. that anti-Zionism is antisemitism) – with the ultimate outcome that critics are silenced and Israel enjoys impunity for its actions.

Israeli leaders and pro-Israel organizations have a long history of conflating Jews with the state of Israel – the so-called “Jewish State” (of which 21% of its residents are non-Jews).

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband also announced that UK will refuse all license applications for arms and other exports that “materially contribute to the occupation”. He called this “a double lock against arms sales”. The ban will remain in place as long as the occupation persists, he said.

US ‘not going to do’ trade ban against illegal Israeli occupiers as UK: Rubio: “Obviously, we’re not going to do what the UK did. We don’t want to see some uptick in violence, or an uptick in conflict or tensions in the West Bank,” Rubio said. He added that the issue “has implications as well on our ability to make progress with regard to Gaza and the 20-point plan and the Board of Peace* that we’re very committed to.”

*NOTE: The Trump administration has a funny way of showing its deep commitment to Gaza. Israel has violated nearly all of the terms of the ceasefire under Trump’s 20-point deal:

    • All military operations were supposed to be suspended, but Israel has continued to attack, killing over 1,350 Palestinians since the ceasefire began;
    • Israel was supposed to restart the full quantity of aid into Gaza (600 trucks a day), along with rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads – none of these commitments have been fulfilled;
    • The Rafah crossing was supposed to be opened for the thousands awaiting medical evacuation – but only a fraction have been able to leave;
    • Israel was supposed to gradually withdraw from Gaza – instead, it is holding more of Gaza than before – going from 53% to approaching 70% (with possible plans for 100%).

In reality, Trump is allowing the genocide to continue, if at a somewhat slower pace than before.
