NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Netanyahu Wants Israel-Saudi Arabia Normalization Before Elections, Sources Say: According to one of the sources, Netanyahu told several of his aides that he needed “one more big thing” before the elections, referring to normalization with Saudi Arabia.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Netanyahu Wants Neither Journalists nor Questions: Like other authoritarians, Netanyahu shuns tough questions and independent media – another step in his assault on democracy.
ISRAELI MEDIA: OP-ED: Netanyahu Wanted Washington to Act on Iran, Now He Says It Wasn’t His Decision: If there’s anything more pathetic than Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s megalomania, it’s his attempts to be modest. In an interview that aired on ABC on Wednesday, he denied that he had tried to persuade U.S. President Donald Trump to attack Iran. Who, me? Attack Iran? What do I have to do with Iran?
“Actually not,” he said. “I didn’t mislead anything,” added the man who has been misleading all the people all the time. And then, without blinking, he added, “Nobody tells President Trump what to do.” Anyone other than Netanyahu, that is. But why nitpick?
CIA Assessment Details Israel’s Race to Make the U.S.-Israel Alliance Irreversible: Israeli officials know they’re losing the American public. Panicked that America’s political consensus on Israel is collapsing, they’re pursuing a long-term strategy to permanently enmesh Israel within America’s military, intelligence, and defense establishment – in ways future administrations would struggle to unwind – according to a new confidential U.S. intelligence assessment.

The Board of Peace and mediator countries announced Thursday that Hamas had agreed to a detailed roadmap for implementing the next phases of the Gaza ceasefire. The mediators said Hamas had, “for the first time,” formally committed to “an actionable plan for relinquishing all its weapons,” followed by an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. In a Truth Social post, President Donald Trump hailed what he called a “HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas.”
Hamas stressed that implementation cannot proceed unless Israel fulfills all of its obligations under the first phase of the October 2025 agreement, and discussions over its heavy weapons are conditional on a permanent end to Israeli attacks, a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, early recovery and reconstruction, the entry of the National Committee and international forces, the dismantling of Israel-backed armed militias, and progress toward Palestinian self-determination and an independent Palestinian state. (Details of the agreement here.)
ISRAELI MEDIA: Hamas Negotiator: No Agreement on Disarming; Israel Yet to Respond to Gaza Deal: In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the senior official in the organization emphasized that Hamas did not agree to hand over weapons, but only to store them in a facility supervised by the technocratic committee in the Gaza Strip.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Board of Peace issues roadmap for Gaza peace plan implementation: “At this point, there is no plan for a signing,” the official said, explaining that Hamas has already given its formal approval to the agreement. However, his remarks indicate that there will be no physical document bearing the signatures of the relevant parties.
